Clint's P.O.V.

I woke up before Abi and noticed her two necklaces sat on her nightstand next to the bed, the arrow one I got her when we first met and the silver chain with her engagement ring on it. I didn't want to push my luck, but I also didn't want to waste any time so I quickly grabbed the chain with her ring on it and slid it into the top drawer of my nightstand. I decided to make everyone breakfast as there was only four of us and the twins to cook for so I put on a pair of sweatpants and made my way to the kitchen to make pancakes. As I was mixing the batter, I heard crying coming from the nursery so I made my way there and carried the twins back to the kitchen with me, sitting them in their high chairs.

"Morning Clint." I heard from behind me.

I turned to see Sam had come into the kitchen, he sat next to the twins and pulled faces at them as they laughed at him. I piled all of the pancakes onto a plate and set out four more on the table, putting the stack of pancakes in the middle after giving the twins one each.

"Jarvis will you please wake Abi and Tony, and tell them they are needed in the kitchen please?" I asked.

"Of course." Jarvis said.

A few minutes later, I heard Abi walking towards the kitchen and the elevator doors opened revealing a very tired looking Tony, they both walked to the table and took a seat.

"I made pancakes." I said with a smile, Tony just glared at me but Abi smiled back.

We all piled a couple of pancakes onto our plates and dug in, we chatted a little bit but the tension in the air made it awkward, as soon as Tony had finished he mumbled a thanks before disappearing back down to his room or the lab. Sam and I tidied everything away whilst Abi took the twins back to the nursery to get them changed and dressed before bringing them back to the living room.

"I'm just going for a shower." Abi told me before disappearing back to our room.

Sam and I sat with the twins in the living room, playing and pulling faces at them as they laughed and talked nonsense back to us.

"Dada!" Maddy said happily, holding her hands out to me.

I happily picked her up and sat her in my lap as she clung onto my t-shirt, taking some of it in each of her fists as she grinned up at me.

"You are so beautiful." I said as I kissed her forehead.

I looked over at Sam, he had Axel on his lap and he was reading a book to Axel, it was only a children's book with farm animals in it but it was nice to see how good he was with the twins. I looked down at Maddy before looking over at Axel again, I did that a few times to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me; Maddy is already a lot bigger than Axel and it's a noticeable difference too.

"Sam, do you think Maddy is bigger than Axel?" I asked him.

"I never really noticed, but now you've mentioned it yeah she is, she's a lot bigger than him." He said, his eyes widening a little.

I was about to call Abi, but she beat me to it, her voice calling my name echoed down the halls.

"Clint have you seen my necklace, the one with my ring on it?" She asked quickly as she walked into the living room.

"No, I haven't but I'm sure it will turn up. Have you noticed the size difference between Axel and Maddy?" I asked, trying to change the subject as quickly as possible.

"I know, I asked the nurse about it at the hospital when I took them 6 weeks ago, she said Maddy must have developed faster than Axel when they were in my womb. She said it's not an issue and it isn't causing Axel any problems, he might just be short when he grows up or he could have a sudden growth spurt soon but either way there is nothing wrong with him." She explained.
