Roselia's POV

-6 years later-

The year is starting to end and a more dreadful cold is going to start another year. When the clock strikes 12 at noon, the snow seems to fall harder and hail comes into the mix which makes it a lot more difficult to go to work. Yes, I wail over the tiniest things even in my mature years. That hasn't changed, I reckon.

"Do you like the flowers?" I smiled widely at the innocent little face with those wide blue eyes that stared directly into the lilies that I gave him. The walls of the hospital froze and layers of ice were commencing to form on the surface in the corner of my eyes. This section of the hospital was much more lively than the other parts. The employees made it entirely sure that they were going to keep it that way since the children required that sense of being in every aspect, at home.

I was kneeling down in front of him and he was standing up straight and yet, we were in perfect height. The kid, he was a Jasper Edward's look-alike. Something rare through these years. It might explain why I was attached to him. Of course not to the point of being a pedophile. I just love to look back to my teenage years that flash at the back of my head when I look at his face.

The best thing that happened yet in my life.

"Yes." He giggled curiously as he played with the white flowers and sniffed it over again. His age was around five ever since he was diagnosed with leukemia and he has been fighting for 3 years. His parents and I are wonderful friends and we do go to dinner from time to time but I know that their kid has no idea of the severity of his own disease and that itself makes me wonder if Jasper could be suffering the same miserable fate.

"Those are my favourite flowers." I tapped on the little nose on the little face and stood up to my heel.

"They are mine too." He chuckled and his bright blue eyes stared into mine with its endless cute-ness. Maybe Jasper looked this cute when he was eight. He ran with his wobbly legs into the arms of his parents as I waved the family goodbye.

"It's so great how you're awesome with kids." A voice overly recognizable spoke behind me.

"It doesn't look like she has ever been bad with them." Caitlin stated beside him. She became my newest best friend and also my newest friend. Yes, these last few years have been tough and I just didn't have the time to make new friends. All I've been doing was focusing on my studies. Although I should admit that I was too engrossed in my studies in a desperate attempt to fill the void he left in my soul.

"Thank you!" I spun around and gestured for a bear hug with Caitlin. "Hey, Kate." I hugged her tightly and pulled away.

"Yeah. Hug my fiance first before your long-time best friend?" Ash joked and signaled for a hug.

"Hmm...." I folded my arms and pressed them against my chest. "I don't think so."

"Leave me hanging?" He raised both his eyebrows.

"Alright." I laughed and gave him a tight hug. Six years ago, he was a lot less tall and he didn't smell of a fancy, elegant perfume. I guess now that he's become a full-fledged businessman, he became much more mature, we all did. Ash and I did have our ups and downs but he stayed by my side. It did get a bit lonelier without Jasper annoying the hell out of me.

Caitlin had dark-as-the-night hair. Her features could lure any guy into a trap but her personality made them stay. She loves to help people, especially the ones entirely desperate for just a drop of water. She'd volunteer in activities that involved helping children, old, and needy people. She had the unique ability to make anyone feel special and safe. That's the specialty that hooked Ash.
