Tak's eyes snapped open, her antennas perked up at the slicing sound. Her gloved clad hands flew up to meet a chest. She looked up to see Dib staring down at her with an uncomfortable grimace. For some reason, it led her insecurities to come up. He only ever saw her as the beautiful human she disguised herself as. Now that he saw her with her true skin, Tak didn't like it.
Who cares if he sees you like this. Ugly or not, you'll always be a hideous girl in his eyes. Tak reminded herself.
"S..orr..y." She removed her hands and tried to step back, but she stumbled.
Dib caught the girl in his arms. He didn't do this for her sake, but did it because you told him to. At first he was upset that you were putting him in this position. Nonetheless, he did it and helped Tak. It was ironic considering the thought of Tak in Dib's arms infuriated you, but it's not like he was enjoying it or she was trying anything.
He lifted her onto the empty table and immediately went to your side, wrapping an arm around your waist. Dib looked away from Tak and pulled you closer. You accepted this and turned to Zim who was already looking your way.
"You really want to go through with this?" He asked.
"Yes." You nodded.
"I still disagree." Dib huffed. He was completely fine with Tak being restrained where she wasn't able to reach you or him.
"It's either this or leave her the way she is. I don't like seeing her all pathetic, it's pathetic." You stared at her. "Besides, she's not complaining."
You all turn to Tak who stared down at her lap. She didn't respond nor react to any of the words you said. There was no point in keeping her restrained if all she did was breathe or stare at nothing. She wasn't sure why she returned to Earth. Maybe it was to reflect on her failure, who knows.
"So letting her run free and taking care of her is our best option?" Dib pulled away.
"Dib, people aren't born evil. Tak didn't get a choice to be who she wanted, she had to do what she thought was right. From what I've learned, Irkens take what they want because it's how they were programmed." You walked towards Tak with a stoic face.
You aren't trying to side with her actions or defend her. If she was truly capable of showing emotions like anger, then there was a possibility she could feel other ways too. She was 'defective' like Zim. He used to want to destroy the planet and prove that he deserves the role of best invader, but now that he's discovered parts of himself that he didn't think were there, the alien was satisfied. Besides, the earth was already destroying itself.
Back to the alien femme, she didn't know what she wanted. Of course she still disliked Zim, but she didn't want to kill him anymore. Her options on Irk were limited. And currently, she felt more free here than she ever did as an Invader. During her conquest, a part of her loved learning about this dirt planet. So many cultures and foods, different lifeforms and ecosystems.
Her favorite was the thunderstorms, although it did bring painful memories, she very much loved it. Enchanting blue lights dancing around, having the ability to cause destruction, but also carry power at the same time. The water drops surrounding the bodies of electricity with the grey clouds around. The solid, liquid, and gas appeared all at once. None of them were the same and yet they all had something in common, destruction and brought fear to most.
Tak felt her body become lighter and for the first time, her mind was at ease. Her eyes fluttered shut, succumbing to the darkness. A glass seal covered her body, releasing some smoke as it closed. Through Zim's computer, the screen showed Tak. Her chest rose up and down in a slow pattern to show that her oxygen level was stable.
