I didn’t see Chase on Sunday after our date, I wanted him to concentrate on his football as much as possible, but I wished him luck of course! And now it was Monday, and I was sitting with Ashley and Jase in the cafeteria, I hadn’t seen Chase all day today either, which kind of sucked, but  I was having a fun time with Ashley and Jase nonetheless, as always.

“No way!” Ashley shrieked, flailing her arms like a retarded seal “You guys kissed?!” she screeched and I shushed her while I laughed, I didn’t really want people knowing Chase and I’d business “Is he a good kisser?” she asked as she leaned closer, I laughed and nodded

“For my first kiss, it was pretty good.” I said with a blush on my cheeks, Jase awe’d and pinched my cheeks, I slapped his hands away as I laughed

“She’s growing up.” he said, wiping a fake tear from his eyes, I rolled my eyes playfully and continued eating my food, when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and I instantly knew who is was.

“Hey.” he whispered huskily into my ear, causing chills down my spine, I turned my head and he pecked my lips softly before sitting down next to me, flinging his arm over my shoulder, pulling me close

“I could puke,” Ashley said as she munched on her food, I laughed and shook my head as I rested my head on Chase’s shoulder. She looked at the both of us and squealed like a little girl “but I won’t because I’m so happy for you guys!” she squealed and Chase chuckled beside me, my head whipped in his direction and I grabbed his arm,

“How’d it go?!” I said excitedly, I totally forgot to ask him late Sunday, but I assumed he was really tired so I just let him be, he shrugged and his arm left my shoulder. Oh no.

“How’d it go, man?” Jase asked, concern in his features, Ashley bit her nails nervously as I eyed him closely

“They’re coming to the game.” he whispered, but I barely heard him

“What?” I said, since I didn’t understand what he had just said

“They’re coming to the game!” he exclaimed, both Ashley and I gasped as Jase cheered loudly, causing the whole cafeteria to turn their heads to us

“Oh, fuck off! None of your business!” Ashley snapped, I laughed loudly but hugged Jase tightly, I was so proud of him.

“Congratulations man!” Jase said as he reached over and patted his shoulder, Chase thanked him and then whispered into my ear as he wrapped his arms around my waist

“Walk with me?” I turned to him and nodded softly, waving a goodbye to Jase and Ashley who only smirked at me, we left the cafeteria hand in hand and walked over to my locker, I leaned on it as he stood in front of me, he kissed my forehead and I smiled slightly “I was so scared.” he whispered, resting his forehead on mine “There were so many good players; I was the only one from the state, which put so much more pressure on me.” he whispered, I grabbed his hands and stroked circles with my thumb on them, he was really tense “They only chose five out of the thirty players that were there. Five.” he said “I can’t even imagine what those other twenty five boys must me feeling.” he said and I felt him squeeze my hands as he sighed deeply

“This is about you.” I said, looking him directly in the eye “Not them, forget about them; if they’re as good as you say they are, they have their future in their hands. But you did it!” I said happily, trying to lighten his mood “Do you know how big of an accomplishment that is?” He nodded softly, I sighed and wrapped my arms around his neck, burying my face into the crook of his neck “I’m so proud of you.” I whispered and I heard a soft chuckle erupt from his lips “What’d your step-dad say?”
