Not so little anymore

Josh's party was in full swing as Josh walked around and greeted people that Cory and Topanga had invited. People from Philadelphia, including his parents who he was fully planning on going home and seeing that next weekend.

"Gees, Cor. I thought you said this party wouldn't be a huge deal." Josh told him as he came to stand beside him in the kitchen. Cory smiled at him and shrugged his shoulders.

"We didn't. Mom and dad seemed to think that twenty-two is a big deal." Cory smiled at him. "We invited them, they invited all these other people."  Cory motioned his hands up at everyone that was in the room.

There were at least twenty people besides the obvious of who would be there. The Matthews, Shawn, Katy and the new baby. Cory and Topanga's apartment was incredibly crowded.

Maya had taken to her new little brother as soon as she walked through the apartment doors, not feeling like she got to spend enough time with him. Riley has also taken to the new baby, but Josh had gotten swept into the crowd of people as soon as he stepped through the door.

"Is that aunt Phillis?" Josh asked as he looked over in the corner of the room. "Cory I haven't seen aunt Phillis since I was ten." Josh stated as he gave Cory a look.

"I know. I'm pretty sure she still has that same old cat as well..." Cory said shaking his head. Josh rolled his eyes before looking over at Maya, who had a huge smile on her face as she looked down at her little brother in awe. Josh smiled.

"How's Shawn doing with the new addition?" Josh asked as he folded his arms and kept his eyes on Maya. Cory smiled.

"I've known Shawn my entire life, I've never seen him happier than when he's with his family. Katy, Maya, the baby. They are his pride and joy." Cory told him. Josh kept his eyes on Maya as he watched her interact with the baby.

"I should probably go and talk to some more people." Josh sighed as he leaned off the counter.

"Josh, have you tried talking to her?" Cory asked. Josh shook his head and shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Not since the last time. I think we're officially done." Josh told him. Cory raised an eyebrow.

"You and Maya? Since when!" Cory stared.

"Since she told me to take the job in California, and I did." Josh said seriously. Cory stared at him.

"Are you sure that's what you want to do? Or are you doing it because Maya told you to?" Cory asked him. Josh didn't say anything. Cory raised an eyebrow.

"'Maya was the only reason I would have stayed." Josh stayed. Cory stared at him for a moment. "She has it in her mind that giving up this job in California for her would be selfish on her part."

"It would be." Cory nodded. "But I was the same way with Topanga about Harvard. She stayed for me and neither one of us ever regretted it." Josh shook his head.

"You wanted Topanga to stay. You weren't worried about it being selfish or ruining your relationship. Maya is determined for her to not be the reason I stay." Josh explained.

"Josh, what do you want to do? Do you want the job in California?" Cory asked him.

"I do want the job. But I want Maya more." He said honestly.

"Have you told her that?" Cory asked. Josh sighed.

"I've told her, Cory. I've told her that I want to be with her, even if it meant giving up California. She isn't changing her mind." Josh said sadly.
