Third Person POV
Rayna

Rayna wakes up at 5:59 A.M. to a slap in the face.

"Out, bitch!" Johnathan growls, grabbing her shoulders and throwing her on the floor. She groans. "Breakfast needs to be ready in fifteen minutes." With that, he storms out. It takes her a minute to gather herself. She decides it's a good idea to make breakfast burritos, considering the time limit she has.

She gets up and doesn't bother with getting ready. She doesn't smell bad, so she just puts her hair up in a loose half bun and heads into the kitchen. By 6:15, she has five breakfast burritos ready. Johnathan walks in, making her stand in position. He nods, grabbing three of them, and then retreats to his bedroom.

While they're still warm, she delivers the last two to Jayces room. He was still asleep, but she woke him up just so he could eat. He thanked her, and she went to go clean up what she used.

As she does, she remembers yesterday. That couldn't have been real. If it was, how could she still have still woken up like that and be treated like shit? It had to have been a dream. She probably just got home late and hid in her room until she was beaten once the King left. That's why her door was still in the hall. Johnathan broke it. She can't be mates with the King. It wasn't real.

At 6:23, the front door opens. Confused, Rayna turns, and is surprised to see Harley walk in. It wasn't a dream. She smiles.

"Hello," he greets, closing the door gently behind him. A small blush creeps up her cheeks as he gives her a cute, toothy, genuine smile.

"H- Hello," she stutters back, continuing to clean.

"How did you sleep, mate?" Harley asks, sitting down at the kitchen island and watching her. She shrugs. She fell asleep crying, got seven and a half hours of sleep, and was woken up by being hit.

"Okay," she responds. She turns to him, looking into his soft hazel eyes. "How about you?"

"Better than I ever have before, having finally found you," he tells her honestly in a soft voice. Her cheeks turn pink, and she turns away in embarrassment. He chuckles.

"Have you eaten yet?" he asks, noticing her cleaning.

Being honest, she shakes her head, but at the same time, Johnathan walks in.

"Yes, she has," he says, going against her shaking head. Harleys eyebrows furrow.

"Rayna, have you eaten breakfast?" he asks again. She shivers when he says her name and turns again to look him in the eyes. It's impossible for her to lie to him.

"N- No."

Johnathan glares at her, causing Harley to growl at him. Rayna cringes, and Johnathan unwillingly bows his head.

"Why don't you make yourself something?" Harley suggests, standing up. "John and I need to talk outside."

"O- Okay," Rayna stutters, putting aside what she had just finished. Harley walks out the front door and Johnathan follows. Once it's closed, Rayna gulps. Hesitantly, she grabs a bowl from one of the cupboards and pours herself some cereal.

After five minutes, Harley walks back in. Raynas eyes widen when she sees that his knuckles are bruised and bloody. She jumps up and walks over.

"Are you okay?" she asks frantically. His face is hard, and he gives her a stern nod. "Follow me."

She walks down the hall to the bathroom. She pulls out the first aid kit and has Harley sit on the toilet seat. He watches in hidden amusement as she washes, disinfects, and wraps up his knuckles.
