I laid in bed staring at the ceiling. Today was the day I been dreading. It was my older brother's birthday. Nick died when I was 15. His car got shot up at a red light.
I reached over grabbing my phone checking my notifications. My parents still didn't text me. Either they forgot what today was or they didn't care.
I went to the groupchat.
Nene: Ren you wanna have a movie night?
Me: I thought y'all wanted to go to the block party?
D'Asia: Fuck that party. We can do whatever you wanna do.
Me: Actually I think I wanna go out tonight. I wanna get drunk

D'Asia: *makes way to the liquor store*
