Alex suddenly realised what they were doing and jerked away. "Thomas, I-I can't. I can't do this right now," he breathed, already stressing over what Thomas would say. His crush, however, looked remarkably calm.

"I get it, Alex. I do. You and James just ended and, well time would be good in this situation. Am I right?" Thomas asked gently. Alex nodded, shutting his eyes and pressing his forehead against Thomas's shoulder while the boy hugged him.

"Thank you," he whispered sincerely.

"Any time," Thomas whispered back. The rest of the group watched on in disappointment.

"So, does this mean that you two aren't going to start dating any time soon?" John Adams asked, slightly confused.

"No. Not until we're both ready," Alex said firmly, checking in with Thomas through his eyes. He smiled in response, opening his mouth to back Alex up. There was no time to though, because everyone started groaning.

"Guys, guys! It's their choice. If they don't want to date, we can't force them to," James said, trying to pacify the friends. They all grumbled in reluctant agreement.

Suddenly, Eliza came racing back around the corner. "Maria," she panted, stopping in front of the young woman. "Maria, can I talk to you alone for a sec?" There was interested murmuring spreading through the group at her words.

Maria blinked a few times before the words set in and she blushed. "Um, I mean, er, sure! Lead the way," she stuttered. Everyone 'aw'd as the two walked away, Eliza daring to take Maria's hand.

Without turning around, Maria used her spare hand to flip them all off. Alex laughed at that and leaned into Thomas as he watched his sister walk away with the girl she loved. "Did you set this up?" Thomas asked curiously.

Alex shrugged. "Maybe. All I did was tell her that she needed to woman up and tell Maria how she felt before someone else stole her heart. All she needed was a little encouragement," he explained.

Thomas pulled him close into his side. "You're the best, you know that?" he sighed, only loud enough for Alex to hear.

"I might have a slight clue," Alex giggled. "But, really? I just want 'Liza to be happy, y'know? She deserves that much." Thomas nodded.

"Yeah, she's easily the second best person here," he agreed. Alex tilted his head to the side slightly, showing that he was confused.

"Second best person?" he questioned. "Who the hell is better than Eliza?"

Thomas smiled gently at Alex. "In my eyes, you are," he replied, making Alex cover his face and blush. "Don't try to deny it, Alexander. You know I like, maybe even love you. And I know that you're not ready, but I'm willing to wait until you are."

Alex smiled softly back at him and then threw his arms around the taller boy's waist and buryied his face in his chest. "Thank you," he said, causing vibrations to go through Thomas's body. "Thank you so much for everything."

Thomas gently patted Alex's head and smiled adoringly down at him, even though he couldn't see it. "Any time. I'd give you my world, but it's in my arms right now." Thomas could practically feel Alex's face heat up.

"Stoooooop," he whined, trying to wriggle away from his crush.

"Nooooooo," Thomas whined back mockingly, causing Alex to look up at him and pout. "Sorry, sorry. Do you wanna go grab coffee or something?" he asked. "I'll buy to make up for it."

"You had me at coffee," Alex smirked, already grabbing his hand to pull him away. But before they could go anywhere, from point A to point B, Marliza walked back around the corner, whispering to each other and giggling and holding hands and just doing coupley shit.
