The Abandoned Princess's mother? This ring was hers?

My forehead furrowed in confusion. It deepened when I found a letter E carved inside the ring.

Edmund stared at the ring on my hand with sorrow eyes. I never seen him looked so broken, it was like he'll break into tears.

If this was the queen's ring why did he gave it to me?

Seeing how perplexed I was Edmund answered with a colder tone hiding his grieving voice. "She wants you to have it."

"Really?" With mixed feelings, that's the only word I could say.

"No."

". . No?" I was now more confused.

There was a brief silence hang inside my room. He also was confused.

What in the. . ?

"I gave that ring to your mother and it was the only ring she ever wore. I guess she really loves it without telling so," he said huffing a smile.

I stared at his face with a thought. He truly does love the queen to even smile charmingly like that. A smile who's in love. Gentle and warm.

But that smile didn't last and quickly disappeared like it never happened.

"That ring is meant to be used. Selene never said it but I think she wanted to give it to you someday."

But it didn't happen because she's gone.

A hand landed on the top of my head. "So take care of it for now on. And happy birthday, my child."

Warmth bloomed inside my chest and a thankful smile touched my lips. I might cry if I speak so I stayed silent as my father tucks me to bed.

He remained on my side until I fell asleep with a clear heart.

I woke up the next day still holding the ring. What happened last night was surreal that I almost thought it was a dream.

The ring rest on my palm heavier than it should be. Without a doubt, my ring and this one was the same.

How can that be? I pondered as I stare at it with a frown

How can that be? I pondered as I stare at it with a frown.

Now that I think of it, I never knew the origin of my ring. Where it came from or when did I start wearing it. I just have it from the start, I guess.

Edmund probably bought this ring thinking of his wife, since the name Selene symbolizes the moon.

Just like my old ring, it resized when I put it in my finger. I then felt a short buzz coming from the ring. It really was my ring.

But then again, the question was how? Could it be. . .

A knock came and Haisley entered with a greeting. She swiftly prepared me for my breakfast.

I left the mysterious ring unsolved.

After the breakfast with the king and the prince, I was brought to the cliff.

A stifled laugh came out from my mouth.

I'm going to die.
