The kiss parted, and both of them sat on the bed, no words needing to be said as Sophie leaned against him, letting him be her only pillar of support.
They say that time flies when you're having fun, and Sophie wished it wasn't true.
Still, it was already going to be night, and he needed to leave.
Jokingly, she pushed him, and pointed to the darkening sky.
"Mrs. Stinkbottom called. She said she needed her favorite idiot back," Sophie teased, and Keefe mocked looking hurt.
"Who are you calling idiot?" Keefe laughed as he tickle-tackled her.
Sophie laughed as she gasped for air, trying to push his hands away from her stomach.
"S- sorry! St- stop it!" she managed to laugh as she toppled onto the bed, Keefe laughing as she put up her hands in defeat.
Keefe stopped, and the laughter died after a while as he gazed out into the dimming sky, as if deep in thought.
Sophie frowned, poking his shoulder. "Hello? What?" she asked, gazing out to the distance where his eyes were fixated at.
"Can I stay? I don't want to go back," he said, his pleading eyes meeting her gaze.
Sophie smiled, then remembering what Grady said. Then again, if Keefe went back, she would be lonely. Sophie thought about the chances of Grady finding out, and nodded.
"Sure, but just tonight. And you're sleeping on the floor," Sophie smiled, and Keefe's eyes lit up.
He nodded eagerly as he went out to tell Ro.
"Finally! Lord Nosypants won't be here!" Ro sighed once she heard about their arrangements.
"You two will be sharing a room though? I'll be sure to keep everyone outside," she grinned as Keefe slapped her arm.
"What? Just saying!" Ro's grin grew wider as Sophie's face turned red.
Keefe gave her a glare as he and Sophie went down to have dinner and Ro merely shrugged, her grin wide and clear.
After the dinner made by Flori, who recreated Calla's starkflower stew, they back to Sophie's room, getting ready for bed.
"This is tiring," Sophie huffed as she prepared the makeshift bed for Keefe.
"You know, we could've just used telekinesis," Keefe nodded in agreement.
Sophie sighed, wondering why she didn't do that earlier.
Sandor helped to bring the mattress in, but he wasn't very pleased when they would be sharing a room, but he wouldn't tell Edaline or Grady, Sophie made him promise.
Sophie sat on the bed, fiddling with the pillow.
"Are you tired now?" Keefe asked as he ruffled his were their, trying to make it at least stand. Sophie laughed as she shook her head.
"Nope, what do you want to do?" She asked as she hung her wet towel up, not really caring about the tangled state her hair was in.
Her eyes gazed to the swaying panakes tree out in the wide open darkness, yet it seemed rather welcoming, not cold at all.
"There?" Keefe joined her at the window, looking out into the darkness.
Sophie shrugged.
"If you can touch the trunk faster than me!" She laughed and she ran out of the door, Keefe chasing right behind her.
The two laughed as they ran into the darkness, heading towards the direction of the panakes tree.
It was pretty silly, actually.
