Infiltrating Aisha's brain was strange. My previous blueprint visualization technique didn't have the desired effect when I searched for the memories of her fight with the hunters.

Instead, it seemed that I needed to flick a light on inside her head. It took me a moment to find it but when I did, the cloudiness in her mind cleared and I felt her hand slip out of mine, the connection being torn away. She, however, had gotten all that she wanted.

Unfortunately, the rediscovery of her memories was not what she'd needed. My eyes opened warily and I watched as a familiar realization dawned on her face. She had killed someone and she remembered it now.

"Th-they were going to try and do it to me. T-they wanted to bleed me out," her voice shook and Tucker put a comforting hand on her shoulder, urging her to continue, "they'd hooked a needle into my vein...they- they were taking my blood."

Jacob, Megan, and Tucker all shared a look. I wondered if they had investigated the purpose of bleeding out werewolves any further.

"The arrows they shot me with," she shuddered at the memory, "they weren't poisoned. I remember her yelling at the man. He'd messed up somehow. I think the arrows were supposed to be poisoned."

This time my eyes narrowed. I knew what her Aisha was referring to. Alice. Tucker glanced briefly at me, gauging my reaction. My expression was stony.

"I-" Aisha's voice cracked, she sniffled.

I spoke for her. "She killed him with the arrow they shot her with and ran for it."

Aisha sniffled again and nodded, tears beginning to stream down her face in full now. Megan reached out and wrapped her arms around her fellow pack member. At least, I thought sarcastically to myself, she likes somebody.

Aisha turned out of Megan's arms and looked at me, "Thank you," she murmured.

I smiled softly at her and then gave Megan a pointed look.

"Well, it is my job."

The other girl scowled and I had to bite down on a laugh. The exhaustion was back and it was making me slightly hysterical. Tucker cleared his throat.

"Jacob, why don't you take Aisha to get some water downstairs and something to eat."

The second-in-command nodded and led the trembling woman out of the office. Ben squeezed my shoulder and followed after the two of them, his eyes trailing Jacob's movements. I smiled knowingly when he looked back at me. My best friend furrowed his eyebrows and left the office in confusion.

Megan, however, stayed and continued the glare that she was really improving upon. Unbothered, I leaned against the edge of the desk and cocked my head at her.

"Can I help you?" I asked, pleasantly.

Megan fumed at my tone. A part of me was curious about why she had such a strong dislike for me. The other part of me couldn't bring myself to care.
