The destruction made the Captain wince as he stared down at the screen. Dr. Banner seemed to leave nothing in tacked against the army at Culver University. The man had enough and after a moment of trying to figure it out, he turned off the tablet, "So," he turned his attention towards the Spy accompanying him. "This Doctor Banner was trying to replicate the serum that was used on me?" Steve asked ending the uncomfortable silence filling the jet.

Agent Coulson nodded, "A lot of people were. You were the world's first superhero. Banner thought gamma radiation might hold the key to unlocking Erskine's original formula" he explained.

"Until Diana came along?"

The agent froze for a moment after hearing that name, "Yeah... until she did," he nodded. "But even we don't know how she properly came along. All of her paperwork in that lab was burned, literally. We have tried to learn more, like who was her mother," he exclaimed making the Captain tense hearing that word.

"Her mother? I thought Diana was the result of experiments with my blood?" He tilted his head.

"No. She is. Or well-" Phil tried to find the words. "What I mean is.. we only know half of her DNA"

"How so?"

He sighed, "Diana's DNA is.. tricky. Her percentages are off in a way. Twenty five percent is your blood and twenty five is the serum" he tried to explain.

"And what about the other fifty?" The captain asked.

"We don't know. No one does. The girl's other fifty percent isn't well.."

"What?"

"Unworldly," Phil exclaimed. "It makes no sense," he took the iPad containing a tab on the girl. "It's almost like she appeared out of thin air"

Steve nodded getting up to his feet, wanting to stop the conversation. After a moment Coulson walked up to join the Captain, "I gotta say, it's an honor to meet you, officially," Steve gave a light smile to the spy. "I sort of met you, I mean, I watched you while you were sleeping"

This caused Steve's face drop at the uncomfortable statement and he glanced away, "I mean, I was... I was present while you were unconscious from the ice. You know, it's really, it's just a... just a huge honor to have you on board-" Phil continued to ramble.

Steve could feel the excitement mixed with utter anxiety rolling off of the spy. When he was on his Captain America tour to sell war bounds he dealt with this more then a few times. People coming up to take pictures and struggling to speak as they wore his merchandise. Of course most of them were little kids but technically everyone was a kid compared to the ninety year old man trapped into a twenty something year old's body.

To help him out he cut the man off, "I wanted to thank you"

He watched the agent's eyes widen, "Th-thank me? Why?"

"I was reading the files I was given on Diana and saw that you were one of her guardians," Steve explained. "I wanted to thank you for watching over her"

Phil smiled at the thought of being thanked by his hero, but still felt a sense of guilt being one of the last to be with her, "We'll get her back"

Phil watched as Steve's hand began to slowly clench around the metal frame, "Well, I hope I'm the man for the job" Steve sighed.
