"so soobin. kai has told me you have a pen pal now." kais mother said as they ate their dinner. "yeah. i believe he said his name was david?" his father piped in. soobin nodded, chewing his food.

"it's daniel and he's a really nice guy. he's been teaching me english so i can communicate with him better since he doesn't know any korean even though he's from here." he laughed, the huenings joining in.

"it's a shame kai didn't sign up for it. we would love for him to make more friends. he barely talks to anybody else other than you and beomgyu." mr huening spoke with a sad smile on his face. kai on the other hand was embarrassed by his father, trying to hide his face behind his food.

soobin glanced over at the raven haired who sat beside him, chuckling at his reddened face.

"if hyuka is ready he'll make new friends but if he's happy with the ones he's got, then i think he's fine the way he is."

kai felt his heart skip a beat as he heard soobin say them words.

the boys finished their dinner, heading up to kais room.

"binnie thank you for what you said to my parents. they've been pestering me about making new friends for awhile now." the younger spoke, rubbing the back of his head.

"nah don't worry about it. i meant what i said." the elder smiled at the other before grabbing clothes to change into. "is it fine i shower first?" he questioned, earning a nod from kai.

soobin locked the door of the youngers bathroom, turning on the shower and stripping out of his clothes.

as he showered, his mind wandered, thinking of all kinds of things. he thought about his mother, mr choi, his father, daniel, all sorts of things. he would be lying if he said he didn't miss his mother but he just couldn't go back there for now. he also missed daniel. it was almost 8pm so daniel still wouldn't be up yet but he wished he was.

as if on cue, his phone buzzed on the bathroom counter, startling the tall boy by its unsettling noise. he quickly finished up his shower and got out. he wrapped a towel around his waist and dried his hands before he grabbed his phone. a wide grin formed on his face as he saw it was by daniel.

hey idk if you're up but you should be it's goddamn saturday but i want you to teach me korean

he quickly shot him a message before getting changed into his pjs.

soobin
hi! and why do you suddenly want to learn it now?

almost instantly he got a reply.

daniel
bc i think i might wanna move there
idk yet

soobin
i thought you weren't interested in that

daniel
well i changed my mind
anyway i'll let you teach me on one condition

what is it?

soobin waited for the reply, watching the three dots only for them to disappear and reappear a few times. it was as if daniel was having a hard time wording his sentence.

he returned back to the bedroom, kai then going for a shower. he laid down in his side of the bed, still watching the dots.

when i come to seoul i want you to be the first person i see when i get off the plane

soobin
really? but we haven't even called
and it's two and a half weeks away

daniel
i know but i want to hear your voice in person
