You woke up very early in the morning. Tomorrow was the ball in Mirkwood. You were going to go by yourself, as you never really got asked to the ball and you didn't think you needed to go with anyone to have a good time.

Secretly, you hoped that a certain someone would ask you to the ball. But, even if the elf didn't ask you, you wouldn't fret.

It's okay to be alone.

The certain elf was King Thranduil. So there's a very low chance of being asked out because he's the king of the Woodland Realm.

However, the two of you knew each other really well, so the chances were slim, but not zero.

You got dressed for a normal day in Mirkwood and walked outside to meet King Thranduil. As soon as he saw you, he waved.

"Good morning!" Thranduil said.

"Good morning." you said, while smiling.

"So... the ball is tomorrow. Have you found an elf to dance with you?" he asked.

"No, I haven't. And I don't need to." you said.

"Oh... what if somebody asked you?" the king asked.

"Depends on who asks me..." You stared into King Thranduil's blue eyes. "Have you found an elf to dance with you?" Your friend shook his head.

"No... I figured perhaps I should go by myself." he said. You pursed your lips. It's too bad that he didn't want to go with anyone.

You really wanted to go with him.

So, the two of you had a simple conversation and parted ways. Thranduil may not have asked you to the ball, but, he invited you for tea.

Tea time was late in the afternoon, so you had some time to kill. You headed to where most elves went to chat.

"Do you wonder who King Thranduil is going to ask to the ball?" an elf asked.

"I do! He is so handsome... I love him... if only he'd go with me." another elf answered. "I haven't really seen him with another elven lady, so perhaps he isn't going with another elf..."

"You might be right."

Seeing how Thranduil said that he supposed that he was going by himself, it seemed that the elves were indeed correct.

Later, you went to have some tea with King Thranduil. He had somebody make some tea, and then he served you.

After taking a sip from your tea, you said, "I heard some elves talk about you. They said that they wished to go to the ball with you." You giggled. "Looks like Thrandy dandy has got a ton of Elleths falling for him."

Thranduil rolled his eyes. "You know what I said about that name." he said.

"I'm sorry, I just think it's cute." you said.

The two of you had a good laugh.

"Well, uh... still no elf to dance with you tomorrow?" King Thranduil asked.

"Nope. And I assume you haven't found one either..." Your friend shook his head.

"I've been meaning to ask someone." He took a sip of his tea.

"Who is it?" you asked. He swallowed his tea and sighed.

"Um..." he hesitated. You urged him to answer the question. Who was the lucky elf? "You."

Your eyes widened and your jaw dropped. "No way." Thranduil nodded.

"I was hoping that you'd come with me... but I was a little nervous to ask you. And I'm usually not nervous to ask anyone anything!" King Thranduil sighed.

"I'll gladly attend the ball with you, mellon nin!" you exclaimed.

"Oh, you don't want to call me 'mellon'. I know it... melamin." Thranduil smirked.

"Shut up..." you giggled. "Fine, I'll gladly attend the ball with you... melamin." You began blushing madly.

"You are just adorable." Thranduil stroked your cheeks gently. "I love you."

"I love you, too... Thrandy dandy." you joked.

The elven king rolled his eyes playfully at the nickname. Just because you knew that you two weren't just friends anymore does not mean that you will ever stop calling him "Thrandy dandy".

After tea time, Thranduil walked you to the more busy part of the Woodland Realm. Elves saw you two walk with arms linked together.

There were mutters and whispers around you.

But, you and King Thranduil ignored the other elves. Of course they were going to whisper and be surprised.

"I can't wait to go to the ball." you said.

"Me neither. It's going to be lovely... You do know that I'm good at ballroom dancing, right?" Thranduil chuckled.

"Are you?" You looked up at him.

"Yes I am. How about you?"

"I haven't really danced in a ballroom with anyone before..." you said. "So I'm not entirely sure."

"I'm sure that you are good."

The next day, you woke up and checked your wardrobe. The ball wasn't until later tonight, so for the day you just put on a more casual looking outfit.

Nothing really happened during the day. Some elves did, however, ask you about Thranduil. That was the most interesting part of your day.

Night finally came, and you got dressed in a formal outfit. It was exciting, yet you were very nervous.

You and Thranduil planned to meet at the ball, so you had to find him over a large sea of elves. But it wasn't that hard, as Thranduil's beautiful crown was pretty visible to you.

Pushing through a huge crowd, you finally found Thranduil. He greeted you and took your hands. "Care for a dance, melamin?" he asked.

You smiled and began to dance with him. He was right, as he seemed to be very good at ballroom dancing.

"Wow... you are great!" you exclaimed.

"And you are not bad yourself. Quite beautiful, actually." Thranduil smirked.

It felt wonderful to be dancing with the elf that you love. The feeling of his warm hands, his graceful movements, and his smile all made you feel elated.

The ball ended after several hours. You were a bit disappointed that it was over, but glad that you can sit at home and be comfortable.

But, Thranduil decided that you should have other plans. "Do you want to stay the night at my place?" he asked.

"Er..." you hesitated. "Of course."

Thranduil gently put his hand on your back and lead you to his bedroom.

I feel like this oneshot was pretty bad. But I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless.

Novaer, mellyn nin!

Also, I got a new puppy so updates might be slow as I need to care for it.
