Chapter 15: Last Night

Saturday, August 25, 2018, 08:30 PHT

The sunlight through the windowpane wakes me up, but the room is still cold and silent. Only the vibration of AC is heard. Slowly, I sit upright on the bed while I massage my right temple. My head is throbbing and it hurts so I groan in pain. I force myself to get off the bed even I feel myself passing out into sleep again.

I wondered where my cousins are because I woke up alone on the guest room. I yawned while I was walking down to tita Sasha's restroom to wash my face and to brush my teeth.

"Good morning!" Tita Sasha greeted me as soon as I settled down on the chair in the dining room.

"Where are they Tita?" I give the dining table full of food a blank stare, but my eyebrows knit when my head aches again.

"They're in the backyard. Doon sila nagkakape. Oh ito sa iyo." Tita puts the cup of coffee in front of me. I smile at her to thank her, and stand up to go to the backyard of her house. My mind is blank. I don't know what to think because I know something is missing in my memory.

Argh. Alcohol. Sobrang sakit ng ulo ko. I can't even remember what happened last night.

Naabutan ko silang nagkukwentuhan sa likod-bahay nila Sasha. They were laughing before I came but they stopped when I took a seat next to my sister.

"Good morning, Ate." Francine greets me. They are all looking at me with their furrowed eyebrows.

"Good morning," I greet them and put the cup I am holding on the table.

"How's your sleep?" ate Adie asks me.

"I slept just fine. Actually, I can't remember how I end up sleeping on the guest room." I admit the took a sip of the coffee.

"We put you there." Kuya Sen told me after he took a sip of his coffee.

"We, you mean?"

"We." He pointed Marc, Kris and himself. I nodded my head but I closed my eyes as soon as I felt my head throbbing again.

Hangover sucks.

"Do you remember something last night?" Adorine asks me. She's just beside me, on my left. I looked at her and tried to recall what really happened.

"Like when Javi came?" Andrea added.

I closed my eyes and did my best to recall anything from last night's event. Ang naalala ko ng malinaw ay nagkukwentuhan kami about college life tapos nagtanong si kuya Sen sa akin ng kung ano man tapos sinagot ko, at—

"What did you ask me again?" I looked at kuya Sen. "Kagabi. I can't remember." I shake my head, but I am still reminiscing something about just eight hours ago.

"Ilang beses na niyang nagawa?" It should be a statement, right? But it sounded like kuya Sen is asking me again.

"Unang beses?" Hindi siguradong sagot ko naman.

"Isa. Isang beses lang. Ganon dapat ang sagot, Ceska. The way you said it, parang uulitin pa niya..." This statement, I can remember that from kuya Sen. I knew he was indirectly telling to give Javi a chance—

"Huling beses." Sabay sabay nilang pagtatama sa akin. Their eyes tell me how mad they are, and they are like pushing me to tell everything at once.

What the hell?

"What happened last night?" I was really shocked when they are all glowering at me. Bakit parang kasalanan ko pa? May ginawa ba akong mali? Nageskandalo ba ako?
