All of my Legolas oneshots are my longest ones, despite the fact that Haldir and Lindir are some of my favorite elves... oh well.

The Fellowship of the Ring was devastated. Gandalf got killed in Khazad-dûm, and you got injured while trying to attack a cave troll before that.

Fortunately the rest of the Fellowship escaped Moria, mostly uninjured. They were to rest in Lothlórien.

Legolas supported you by wrapping his arms around your shoulders. You two were sort of friends. The first time you had met was in Imladris, where the Council of Elrond was held.

However, you two never really had the opportunity to get closer, despite the many chances you had.

Once The Fellowship arrived to the borders of Lothlórien, the marchwardens had found you. Haldir, a blond marchwarden began speaking to you all.

Soon, he lead you to Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn. They found out that Gandalf, also known as Mithrandir, had died.

They also learned that you were injured and needed to be helped. Legolas carried you to where the healers are and let you rest there. The elf watched over you as the healers prepared to examine you.

You stared into Legolas' eyes. "Why are you watching me?" you asked.

"I just want to see how you are doing. You did get hurt quite a bit..." Legolas replied. You laughed weakly.

"Thank you, mellon. You don't have to do this. Why don't you just camp with the rest of the Fellowship?" You continued to stare at Legolas.

"I want to sit here and make sure that you are alright." Legolas smiled. "You know, outside, there are elves singing a lament for Mithrandir."

Your face lit up. Elvish music was something you really liked. It was beautiful and you loved it when your mother sang to you when you were an elfling. "I miss him. He was kind and a good soul. His death pained me."

"Well, I don't wish to make you any more hurt, so why don't we switch the subject?" Legolas looked down and then looked right back at you.

The two of you talked about anything that came to mind before Legolas was told that it was time for him to leave. He bid you farewell and left to camp with the rest of the Fellowship.

It was lonely laying down in a bed alone, obviously. If only your wounds would heal, meaning that you could walk out and talk to the rest of the Fellowship.

You had a close relationship with none of the others and it would be nice to develop one with another member.

So much pain was in your body at this moment. Both emotional and physical. Several healers arrived at your bedside to examine you.

There were several bad injuries on you. A healer looked at you and told you, "You are to get stitches. This may mean that you must stay here after the Fellowship leaves."

"What? I cannot do that! I swore to go with the-" you protested.

You were interrupted by the healer. "I'm sorry. But we do not want you wandering with scars." he explained.

You continued to protest. The healer kept on insisting that you needed to stay. Eventually, you gave up and said, "Fine... can you get Legolas or Aragorn for me? I must tell them that I must stay."

The healer nodded and sent an elf to go get one of the two people. Soon, the elf came in with Legolas. You smiled.

"Legolas... I have some unfortunate news." you said, sadly.

"What is it?" Legolas asked. You gulped, knowing that he will be disappointed.

"Well... in order for me to properly heal, I must stay in Lothlórien. I know I swore to protect Frodo, but there is no way that I can leave with you all." You licked your lips. "Tell the others that I wish them good luck."

"Aw, it's a shame that you cannot go with us any longer. But we will be staying in Lothlórien for about a month." Legolas said. "So, I will visit you every day to make sure that you are doing well."

"Sir, I must ask you to leave. We need to mend her wounds." a healer told Legolas. The elven prince nodded and left.

The next morning, you had stitches to help your wounds. You woke up to some healers nearby. Once they noticed that you were awake, they asked you how you were feeling, and you responded that you were actually doing fine.

You patiently waited for Legolas to come to your room to check on you. If only you had known him earlier, as he was very kind and loving.

At last, you saw your friend walk to you. He looked happy to see you.

"Good afternoon, mela- mellon nin." Legolas said. "Excuse me there, I'm starting to mess up my words today."

"That is fine. Now, how is the Fellowship?" you asked.

Legolas told you about the things that the Fellowship did last night and now they are all doing fine. Everyone is just upset about Gandalf's untimely death.

He stayed by your side for a few hours before being asked to leave. Once he left, you realized that you felt a strange feeling inside. Not being sure what it was, you shrugged to yourself and did practically nothing for the remainder of the day.

Time skip brought to you by "They have a cave troll."

It has been about a month since the Fellowship had arrived in Lothlórien. This was the final day that the others were going to stay there.

Legolas, who is still your friend, decided to pay you one final visit. Once he arrived, you wave and called his name.

You never stopped having this weird feeling in you when Legolas was around.

Every time you saw him, your days grew brighter. When he spoke to you, you couldn't help but smile. He was on your mind constantly. Soon, it hit you.

You loved him. And you needed to confess before he leaves.

"Mellon nin... I must tell you something before you need to leave me." you gulped. Legolas nodded. "Well, I always have this strange feeling whenever you're with me, and I always miss you whenever you leave, even though I know you will return in only a few minutes. And I believe that I... I'm in love with you."

The elf gasped. But then, he leaned closer to you, and he gently kissed your lips. You returned the kiss, and carefully grabbed his hair and deepened it.

"I love you, too." Legolas whispered into your ear. He kissed you again, which sort of took you by surprise. Hopefully, this would be the elf that you marry.

The next day, you woke up to a note.

Good day, melamin,

If you are reading this, then the Fellowship has left Lothlórien. I'm sorry that you cannot come with us. I wish you could. There is no way of knowing what I will do after this quest is complete. It is unknown if we shall meet again.

Unfortunately, we may never see each other again. Chances are that our destinies may intertwine, but they might never meet. I hope that won't be the case.

Please do not forget me. I love you and I shall love you for all of my life. For all of eternity. If we are to meet again, I wish to proudly become your husband. There is no point in sending me a reply, and we cannot communicate in any way.

Love, Legolas

After finishing reading the letter, you felt a few tears form in your eyes. What if you never see him again?

I put a little Pirates of the Caribbean reference in there. Did anyone catch it? Thank you for reading this!

Novaer, mellyn nin!
