Affection is a great comfort in a cold, dark world
Connection staves off the loneliness that keeps my heart furled
Kisses are lovely
As are bites
And passion
And the moves you and I make in the night
But love is terrifying
Rather be left with an empty heart
Than find I'm with someone who would save my life first
Who would find me stranded in a desert caravan and quench first my thirst
Loneliness is better for my soul
Than knowing that my life would be put before humanity as a whole
Darkness is safer than the light of love
When murder and heartbreak work hand and glove
Never let me be the reason you have forgotten
The inherent worth of someone other than me
Your love is the last thing I want to be caught in
Spare me the guilt, if you love me, let me be
