Miranda's POV

I arrived in the Shire around noon, much too early to go searching for the marked house. I decided instead to go visit an old friend of mine. I doubted he would remember me, but I figured it was worth a shot.

When I arrived at his door, I noticed a blue rune carved into the wood. "Well, this should be interesting." I said aloud as I knocked. The door opened to reveal a hobbit looking at me strangely.

"Can I help you?" The hobbit asked, looking quite confused.

"Yes, I believe you can Bilbo Baggins." I said. I chuckled at his reaction.

"How do you know my name?" He asked, looking into my hood suspiciously. "I don't believe we have met."

"Oh, it was over 20 years ago." I said.

"It might help me remember if I could see your face." He stated, trying to look up into my hood. I smiled at him and pulled my hood off. His blue-gray eyes stared into my blue-green ones. He looked across my face, his eyes landing on my ears. A wave of recognition washed over his features, "Luna?"

I nodded happily, "It's good to see you Bilbo. May I come in?"

"Yes, of course! Come in! Come in! I haven't seen you in ages! What have you been up to all this time?" His questions just kept coming. I smiled at him fondly, watching him ramble.

Sometime later, Bilbo was sitting down to a dinner of fish. He laughed at my scrunched-up face. "Still not a fan of fish I see."

"They really are gross; I don't know how anyone can eat them!" I said sticking my tongue out in disgust.

"Remind me why you don't like them?" He asked, still rather amused.

"Once when I was young, I was eating one and a bone got lodged in my throat. I swear, it almost killed me!" I exaggerated, placing my hand on my forehead and leaning back a little pretending to faint. "I can't even think about eating them anymore. Just the thought of it makes me gag."

"Well, at least eat something!" He said pushing a plate of vegetables, cheese, and fruit at me.

"Thank you, Bilbo." I said. Just as we were beginning to dig in, there was a knock at the door. Bilbo looked at me strangely as I pulled my hood back up. "Bilbo, from this moment on, you must call me Miranda. It is important." I stated, urgency creeping into my tone.

He nodded and was about to respond when another knock sounded at the door. "Alright!" He called, "I'm coming! I'm coming!"
