It seemed as if no matter what I did I was completely unable to focus on any of the course work laid out in front of me. I had never been the most academically gifted but today, my mind was not displaying the ability to pertain any of the information on tort law. Instead, I was preoccupied by the events of that morning, my mind was back in the cafe. It was all just flashes rather than one solid memory, flashes of stormy coloured eyes and brown hair.

With a sigh, I pulled at my hair in frustration, and peered down at the empty papers in front of me. A tiny slither of the girls sweet scent lingered on my clothes, I must have rubbed past her on my rush out of the Cafe.

Suddenly, the sound of students around me beginning to pack their bags, captured my attention. I glanced around confused. I was sure that I hadn't been in class that long, this was a two hour lecture. It wasn't possible I'd been day dreaming for two whole hours.

I looked around, searching for an answer. Beside me, a pale guy with shaggy hair gave me a friendly smile. "You look worried bro, quiz won't be that hard."

"Quiz?" I narrowed my eyes at the board at the front of the lecture hall. Sure enough, in bold red marker were the instructions for the upcoming quiz.

He gave me an affable smile as he tossed his backpack over his slim shoulders. "You'll be right man, professor Greene gave us this' arvo off to study. Everyone's just going to that rich kids party for drinks. See you there?"

I nodded at him, beginning to pack up my own things as he scuttled down the long lecture hall stairs. My classes always ran later than Noah's but he still always waited for me in a designated spot in the quad. I hated to make him wait longer than needed, so I rushed out into the halls of C block.

As I speed walked through the halls, I smiled at people that passed me, receiving polite, lifted lips back. One thing I liked about interacting with humans was how nice they all were. My ranking didn't matter among the humans, to them, I was just another person, Connor Fields, law student.

The world outside was shown in flashes of the windows I passed, it was the end of summer, almost autumn. It was too late in the year for so many people to be dressed in shorts and thongs but that didn't seem to stop the student body of Newcastle University from holding onto their dreams of summer.

I slowly became aware of a faint scent, that mingled with the smells of the other students. It was a sweet scent, like a fresh bouquet of flowers sprinkled with vanilla essence. The hairs on the back of my neck rose as I turned my nose up into the air, breathing in the delectable smell. I was completely enthralled by the scent that I'd forgotten I was in a hallway of people. I set my attention back on the bustling crowd around me just in time to see a human girl barrelling towards me, her attention completely on her phone. "Shit," I hissed side stepping her before she had the chance to take in our almost collision. "Sorry."
