Reader's POV

I fluttered my eyes open from an amazing dream.

"(Y/N), I love you."

"I love you too, Sebastian."

He was about to kiss me but, sadly I woke up before I could feel his lips.

I sighed in frustration. It was such a great dream. I change into my clothes for the day, brush my hair and teeth, and made my bed. I thought it would be rude not to do this because this manor isn't my house, and it would give the servants here at the Phantomhive household more work than they already have. I went ahead and started wandering around the manor to understand my new surroundings. I looked at the paintings and sculptures in the halls and the enormous rooms such as the library and billiards room. I looked around in the library searching for something to read. I came upon Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven". It seemed interesting and I have always been a fan of dark stories.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore— While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. "'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door— Only this and nothing more." Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December; each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow;—vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow—sorrow for the lost Lenore— For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels' name Lenore— Nameless here forevermore. And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me—filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating "'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door—Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;— This it is and nothing more." Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, "Sir," said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you"—here I opened wide the door;— Darkness there and nothing more.

I continued to read until I heard a voice.

"Miss (Y/N), may I ask what are you reading?"

I look up to see Sebastian. He stood there with that devilish smile.

"I was reading, "The Raven."

"By Edgar Allan Poe? Isn't it too scary for you?"

He teased. I chuckled at him.

"What's wrong with a little bit of fright? The Raven is my favorite dark story by him."

"Dark subjects suit your interests I believe?"

"Yes, especially anything demonic."

He blushed. I giggled at his pink face as he cleared his throat.

"May I show you around the manor and introduce you to the other servants?"

"I'd love to."

He held out his gloved hand and I gladly took it. I blushed as his hand embraced mine. We walked down the long halls and corridors. I soon learned the layout of where everything was and soon, we came across the four other servants. We came to the kitchen and Sebastian suddenly pushed me down to the ground from a huge explosion. I heard coughing and saw a man who looked like a chef, a woman who was a maid, a young boy who seemed to be a gardener, and an elderly man that seemed to be a previous butler.

"Oi, that was a close shave. Could've started a big fire."

The man said then the maid shouted in anger.
