Climbing Trees .. not

A painful groan notified Kakashi of someone waking up. He glanced up from his book to see [Name] groggily sitting up. The teen rubbed their forehead with a grimace, before sleepily glancing to the side and making eye contact with Kakashi.

" I see you're finally awake. "

[Name] grumbled and began standing up. A hand reached out and tightly grabbed their shoulder, pushing them down. Their [e/c]eyes widened in panic as their breath quickened

' shitshitshitshit!! What did I do?! Don't tell me! I must've spilt something important?? What is it? What is it? The battle of the bridge? That Zabuza is alive?? ' They felt their heart rapid's beating and sweat beginning to fall. They gulped.

" I believe you have someone explaining to do. "

"H... Huh? Explain what?"

Kakashi chuckled mockingly " Explain what? " He opened his eye " The fact that you somehow managed to sense from where and when Zabuza's going to attack. Where that masked kid was. The fact you even spoke to him as if he's your childhood friend. The fact that you know Zabuza's alive. How's that for a start? "

Dread washed over their body at the information. [Name] gripped their shirt and suddenly breathing was a hard task. They hiccuped, trying their best to calm down but to no avail. They hung their head low.

"[Name]" Kakashi called out to them "[Name]!" The jonin's eyes widened as the teen fell into his arms.

At the same moment, Tsunami busted into the room and glanced down at [Name]. The woman picked up the genin, and returned them to their bed before turning towards Kakashi with a scowl on her face " Sensei, I understand that you would be worried about your student's health but questioning and scaring them into fainting is not okay!!"

Tsunami continued to scold the man for a few more minutes before shooing him outside. The woman took one final glance at the genin before closing the door, giving [Name] the sleep and quiet they needed.

" Miss Tsunami? "

"Hm," Said woman side glanced towards the table, where [Name] sat. They had a blanket wrapped around them and a tray of rice balls in front of them. They kept silent for a few minutes before standing up.

" I'll be heading out now "

" You sure? You just woke up... Maybe you should rest a bit more..."

In one ear and out the other. [Name] picked up the rice balls and carefully made their way to a secluded area in the forest, hoping to avoid Team 7. The teen examined the place around them before sitting down, trying their best to loosen up.

They swung the blanket like a cape and sat amid the bright, grassy field, munching quietly at thr rice balls." You should be resting sensei, you haven't fully recovered. "

" I know, I know. " The man nervously chuckled as he set his crutches aside "But, I wanted to check up on you. Miss Tsunami told me you were going out"

[Name] shifted uncomfortably, keeping quiet and looking away " Sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to scare you... It's just that, It was overwhelming with Zabuza alive and all... And I almost took it out on you... Without thinking... Not to mention you are Sara's desciple! I mean, she has books with a lot of information on them!! I guess it slipped that you were under her for months!! " The man tried to lighten up the mood. Kakashi glanced down towards [Name]. They weren't responding which made him sigh " Sorry again. I'll take my leave. Please be careful. " [Name] closed their eyes and exhaled.

They opened their eyes for the nth time, continuing with annoyance to stare at the ceiling and hoping for sleep to finally consume them. They grumbled quietly, hoping to not wake up their teammate.

" Can't sleep, huh? " Sakura's soft voice echoed throughout the quiet room. [Name] turned to look at her and pouted "  Yea... Sorry... Did I wake you up?"

Sakura shook her head and smiled, laying down in her arms " Nah, couldn't sleep. It's just... No matter how many times I try, I can't go to sleep. It's annoying. "

[Name ] hummed " I don't know if it's true or not, but grandma once told me that when we sleep in a new and unknown place, our brains go into survival mode with one hemisphere being more awake than the other. " The teen smiled weakly as they heard Sakura's giggle.

" Your grandma must be some sort of a doctor "

" I mean kinda... She did come from a family full of doctors. She became a nurse then a botanist." [Name] grumbled, " Man, talking about them makes me miss home a lot... "

Sakura propped on her elbow, excitement and curiosity sparkling in her jade eyes " Hey, how about we share some of our stories? Maybe all the talking will exhaust us and we will get to know each other. Wanna go first?"

" Sure... " [Name] rubbed their chin in thought " Hmm, well I don't remember but gramps used to tell me so many stories of my childhood...Let's see... I was little back then, maybe around 4 - 5, Gramps saw me sulking on a bench. When he tried to ask what was wrong, all I said was ' just sit down on the bench '. My old man, not giving a second thought, sat down on it and tried to make me talk. When I -"

The teen snickered " When I told him that the bench was freshly painted, gramps could only cross his legs and told us to patiently wait for Grandma, hoping maybe we could trick her. Needless to say, we all ended up with red ears and hours of lecturing"

Sakura snorted but immediately covered it up with a fake cough " Wow, that brought back memories. When I was little, I used to save up money to buy dango. One time, I was in such a hurry that I didn't see the ninja in front of me. I think I tripped or bumped into them but all I remember was the dango and syrup onto the ninja's jacket. When I tell you, that was the fastest I have run my whole life. I was so scared of getting out of my house, thinking that the ninja will be outside and beat me up. "

[Name] quietly whistled before smiling " Man, little Sakura must've one of the top ten people Usain Bolt was afraid to challenge. "

" Usain bolt? "

" The fastest man alive... From where I am, that is." [Name] waved her off

Sakura kept quiet for a few minutes before speaking up " What's something you miss so badly... From where you came from... "

[Name] stared at the girl then pouted " Something I miss so badly? Well I was supposed to go to school y'know... I worked hard to get accepted into a good one in the capital city. I had a detailed plan of were to go, what to eat... I miss that, i miss my friends, i miss home..."  [Name]'s voice grew softer and quieter as they stared at the ceiling.

" It must be hard... One second your preparing for school and the next you're here... " Sakura mumbled as her hand grasped [Name]s, drawing circle motions on it.

" Yeah... But there's nothing we could do. We just have to hope for the best.

Sakura hummed in agreement " What's it like... In Wakayama?"

" It was nice... I,uh... "

" When we grow up... Like maybe when we become Chunin or Jonin... Do you wanna visit Wakayama..."

The sad look [Name] had went unnoticed by Sakura, who still stared away in the night " Yeah..." [Name] mumbled quietly as they nuzzled in their arms. The duo smiled at each other before continuing to ramble about various topics throughout the night.
