Selena sat on the kitchen counter scrolling through photo's her and John B took grinning at each one. Wheezie suddenly came in giving her a confused look
"Why aren't you dressed?" She asked
"Because I'm not going."
"Why, you've been talking about midsummers all year."
"Well I don't wanna go now, I don't even have a date." Then Rose walked with her hot pink flowy dress
"Selena says she's not going." Wheezie told her mom
"The hell she isn't. Your dad is being Coordinated as guardian of Knights of the Rhododendron. You're going." Rose scoffed
" you're not my mother, I don't have to do what you tell me." Selena snapped back
"Whatever, your daughter says she isn't going." Rose told Ward who came in with Sarah
"Why aren't you going?" Sarah asked putting on her earring
"Sarah, wheezie go, let me talk to her." Ward said to the sisters "What's going on?" He asked folding his sleeve's
"I honestly don't feel like going to a party where I 1: don't even have a date to go with. and 2: is filled with snobby rich people who probably don't even care that I'm there. So what's the point." She replied
"C'mon sweetheart, this is a very important night for me and I really want you to be there. Sarah's going, it will be fun you can dance around with her or even make new friends. It will be fine just come, do it for me." He begged and Selena rolled her eye's finally giving in
"Fine." She sighed walking up to her room to get the dress she was suppose to wear. She looked at the silk dress for a while before groaning and slipping it on, it fit way better then expected showing all her curves and everything.
She liked it.
She looked for her flower crown along with a few necklace's and earrings. Once she was done she put on little make up, just some mascara, blush and lipgloss. She looked in the mirror for a while and decided she was done, she heard the honking of a car and ran down the stairs to her driveway where her family was waiting.
She got in besides Sarah and off they went to midsummers.
"Well look at you." Sarah teased
"Oh shut up." Selena giggled
"You look very beautiful, aren't you glad you came." Ward said
"I guess." She muttered
Once the family arrived at midsummers they had to do this dramatic entrance where everyone would clap and out came the Cameron's. Selena thought it was stupid but the words of her father echoed through her head
