Abrianna

"Mrs. Taylor informed me of what had happened earlier" I sip on my ginger tea and its satiating taste quench my thirst. Uh! This is exhaling negativity.

I glance at Dylan as I slowly place down my tea cup.

"And?" he gives me his boyish grin.

"It makes me wonder how do you do that" Napatawa ako sa sinabi niya. If I know he will do more than just kicking and denying Oliver of his privileges and incentives as a former employee of the company. I bet he will totally ruin his career.

"Says the man who is more ruthless than me" He just smirk before taking a drink on his black coffee. I grin as well and sip on my drink.

Dylan Hontiveros. A fellow Filipino and our senior manager.

Kung meron mang kinakatakunan ang ibang departments, it is the name Dylan Hontiveros. He possesses that dark,  enigmatic and superior aura.

Most our afraid of him even the old ones. Maybe because of his personality. His authoritative presence. His commanding voice. But I see more than that.

It would be reasonable if the old ones see him with respect, but with fear?  There must be something. Because a person superior than the other would not project terror unless there's a reason to.

At alam ko kung ano iyun. There is a reason behind this aside from his character. It is something people tremble for in business.

Connection.

Dylan is connected to the higher ups. I am certain of that. Maybe he is associated to a stockholder, to an investor, to the president, to the CEO or who knows to the Chairman. Hindi siya kakatakunan ng mga boss namin maliban lamang kung may connection siya. At sigurado akong meron siya non.

I am betting he is associated to the Chairman. My gut-feeling is strong with that idea. Kaya hindi na ako nagtataka kung bakit ganoon na lamang ang ipakitang respeto ng mga boss namin. A respect that stirs from fear. At kung bakit ipinakilala siya bilang senior manager namin ilang buwan na ang nakalipas gayong bago lamang siya.

I won't also be shock if he knows his employees background, if he knows my background. If he knows I am married. If he knows I just ran away.  A ran away. A fucking modern version of Cinderella.

Afterall, power manipulates.

"What's your plan for tonight?" tinaasan ko si Dylan ng kilay.

"Nothing specific. Home, work and sleep" I have no plans on going out. I am not in the mood for night out today.

He looks at me straight in the eye "I am going for an exhibit later this 8pm"

I shrug. "I'm not asking"

"I want a date" His blunt statement causes me to chuckle lightly.

"I am not asking" I state again and take my last sip before gently placing it on the glass table.

"Neither do I" His stares remain on me even though I break our eye contact.

I shake my head as I grin widely.  This man must learn how to ask.

"Dylan, be a gentleman. Why don't you try to ask?" His face forms a frown and I can't help but giggle.

Who knows this man has a cute expression?  "Come on. I might come with you if you do"

"Might is the word" he says eyebrows raised. I shrug but he fucking rolls his eye. I laugh at what I am seeing. This man has issues!

"Your choice" nakangiti kong sabi.
