Luna looked down at the keys in her hands and threw it under the stairs, taking a deep breath and nodded 'it's now or never' she thought

She took one step on the stairs but retreated back as she thought it would be better to leave when the noise from upstairs died down cause that would mean they would be passed out by then but what if they realized the keys are gone before that? But they are drunk so would they really

She sighed, she doesn't even remember much about the outline of the house but she knows that it is a double storey house so she'll be facing the staircase once she opens the basement door and remembering there would be another door on the left side and the living room would be on the right, to the ending of the staircase

With determination, she decided that now was the time. There's no way she will spend another hour in this space, whatever out there is better than here, anything is.

"Oh" She said, remembering to take the bread that was thrown and put it in her shirt with the ends of the shirt tucked in her pants. Pushing her long black hair behind her ears and putting on a game face

She started ascending the stairs slowly to not make any noises though she doubted they would be aware of the sound as it was already pretty much rowdy upstairs. Her parents were pretty young when they had her so they weren't that old but their parties were always like high school or college kids party, unlike their age

Holding the knob to her freedom, she turned it and slowly opened it and saw a lot of people cluttering around but none that looked like her parents

Luna could feel her heart beating really fast and her breath was heavy, not only because of the escape but seeing so many people frightened her especially when they were intoxicated

Not stalling it more, she stepped out of the door and closed it after locking it from the inside. It was fortunate that they did not put any locks on the door from the outside but she knew they hadn't as she never heard any extra clicks of locks

Luna turned left and fortunately the door was opened and it showed the outside though it was night time, the full moon illuminating some light so it was not totally dark, she ran straight ahead and never stopped until she was out the door and into the bushes and trees which was few metres away from the house, her heart beating erratically by now

After hiding behind a tree and sagging down against it, she turned to look behind and saw the small house showing various colored lights from the window and people all over the house with cups in their hands, musics blaring

Then suddenly two male were heading her way which made her panic and so she started running into the forest, not knowing where she was going or where she was now even. The bottom of her foot was hurting from the rocks she was stepping on but she was happy to feel the nature

She never stopped running but she could only go for so long until she was walking but not planning on stopping as the need to put much distance from those monsters and also to find some sort of shelter

***

Luna didn't know how long and far she had walked and run but daylight had approached, she could see everything much clearer now and the tall trees were blocking the sunlight

When she saw a stream, she blew out a sigh of relief as she needed water. Using both hands to scoop out the water and drinking it, the coolness of it went down her throat

She finally took time to look at her surrounding and she smiled of how free she felt right now though she knew that where she was right now is more dangerous than being inside that house but she did not care, even if she died right now, she would not have mind
