Finally Found

Chapter 8 • Happy

I spent the rest of my morning painting until around 8am. By the time I was finished with my painting my hand was cramping and I had paint all over me, I don't know how this happens but it does every time I paint, I always end up with more paint covering me then the actual canvas.

After cleaning up and putting my painting in the back of my closet I made my way downstairs but paused before entering the kitchen full of voices.

"Are you excited you get to see your amazing beautiful sweet girlfriend." I could recognize that voice belonging to Emilio, I could also detect the sarcasm in it.

"Don't forget incredible Lio, after all he only tells us how 'incredible' she is only twenty four seven." I was surprised to hear Antonio joking around, the only emotion I've seen on him was anger and I'm not gonna lie it scared me, I was worried he would always be angry.

"Haha, your right Tony, wow Matty boy here really is whipped." They both burst out laughing before another voice added to theirs and I realized that they were making fun of Matteo. I forgot he had a girlfriend.

"Yah laugh it up, your just jealous that I can keep my eyes on one beautiful sweet incredible girl for longer than just a day." Realizing that I shouldn't be eavesdropping walking into the kitchen to see Antonio glaring at Matteo while Emilio just sat there smirking at him.

The second I step inside all of their eyes immediately went to me and I fidgeted on the spot. I wish they would just ignore me and continue doing what they were doing instead of putting they're attention on me. The only attention I was used to was from John and is wasn't a good kind.

"Hey Gabs you hungry? I could make you some pancakes or something." Matteo started standing up from his seat at the counter but I stopped him by telling him that I was fine and didn't need anything to eat. He sat back down after making sure I wasn't hungry and I couldn't help but feel my icy walls around my heart that I built up to keep people out melt a little at his concerns.

"So Gabby your gonna get to Matty's girlfriend tonight." Emilio has a wide grin and his eyes were filled with mischievous with I don't really know why but it made me feel nervous. It also didn't help that Antonio was smirking at me, now I'm really nervous.

"I can't wait to me your girlfriend. What's she like?" I wanna make a first good impression with her. After all it sounds like she's been around for a while and I just got here. What if she doesn't like me would that mean Matteo wouldn't like me anymore either? Great now I'm getting anxious because my stupid mind won't shut up.

However I apparently said the right thing because a huge grin spread across his face like the same one that he had when we talked about her in the car.

"Oh god nice Sorellina now you got him going again." Emilio groaned and rolled his eyes in annoyance but the smile on his face said that he wasn't actually annoyed by this.

"It's not like we haven't heard how great she is already." I had to control the surprise on my face when Antonio said that with a smirk on his face, maybe he isn't actually that bad, maybe glaring is just part of his personality like the grinch. Now imagining Antonio as the grinch I couldn't help but let out a little giggle which caused them all to look at me in confusion to which I just smiled a little at them. I also noticed that Antonio smiled a small smile for a second before it disappeared but it was still a little smile never the less, and at me, Antonio one of my scariest brothers smiled at me even if it was for a second I couldn't help but feel a burst of determination in me to make him smile more.

"Hey it's not my fault I love my girlfriend. And Tesoro she can't wait to meet you. Every time we talk she mentions you and I'm starting to think she might like you better than me." That got another smile out of me, I couldn't help but smile at them when they were like this.
