I sent a good morning text to Chase before getting ready for school.
Showering was hard with so many cuts and bruises. Some I had to cover with makeup only making them hurt worse.
I put on the outfit I picked and went to my kitchen. My mom hasn't come back since last night so I can grab a snack. I grab 3 fruit snack packets before slipping my sneakers on, and leaving to meet Amber.
"Wow, no skirt," Amber-Rose says to me, as I met her at the sidewalk.
I shrug as I hand her a packet of fruit snacks. She smiles taking it and opening it popping one in her mouth and smiling.
My phone vibrates and I take it seeing a text from Chase.
Chase: gm Nadine, how'd u sleep?
I smile at his text before typing down a reply.
Me: good thx, u?
Chase: I slept great, thanks for asking
I blush, noticing as Amber-Rose was peering over my shoulder to look at my phone.
"Who is that?!" She screeches attempting to grab the phone but I jumped back too quick.
I start to run from her until I see a familiar black Lamborghini parked nearby. I run to the car with Amber-rose and go over to the driver's side smiling as Chase rolls down the window.
"What are you running from?" He asks as he sees me panting with a smile on my face
"I-"
"You better not have a boyfriend Nadine!" I hear Amber-Rose growl as she approaches
"Gross!" I call back turning away from Chase
She comes over to me and peers into the car, "Papi," she smiles seductively as she sees Chase who has an amused smirk on her face
"Amber-Rose, this is Chase, Chase this is Amber-Rose," I introduce them pointing between them
"She was the one That called you like a hundred times, yesterday?" Chase's question sounded more like a statement.
"102," Amber corrects putting a finger up
Her words are quickly forgotten in the conversation as she pounces on me. I squeal and quickly scramble to the other side of the car before opening the passenger door and crawling into his car.
"Hi," I smile at her through the window, leaning over Chases lap.
Chase messes with my hair before turning to Amber-Rose, "Get in, I'll drop you, girls, at school," he offers, leaving little room for argument.
It's not like we would turn down the opportunity to be driven rather than walk to school again. So Amber raises no complaints as she wastes no time getting into the back seat.
"Este es el que estaba sonriendo sobre mensajes de texto?" Amber asks me

Chase glances at me and I bite my lip, realising I had been caught in a lie, "No estaba sonriendo," I reply
(I wasn't smiling)
"I didn't know you lie, Nadine. You don't seem like the type," Chase's attention is on me as he says this, no longer paying much attention to the road.
I couldn't help but notice the way my name sounds when he says it.
"Can you say my name again?" I blurt out without thinking
Amber-Rose bursts into laughter, "What happened to my innocent Nadine?" She asks kissing my cheek, "Lying and horny?" She raises her eyebrows feigning shock as she leans back into her seat shaking her head, "I need to tell Mackenzie about this ASAP,"
I wipe my cheek with a disgusted face, "I'm not innocent," I reply moodily, "And what does 'horny' mean?" I question looking at Chase
He glances in my direction briefly, "Don't ask me," he says nervously
"So you guys haven't fucked?" Amber-Rose directs her question to Chase
Why do I feel like I don't understand anything these people say. What is 'fucked' and 'horny'? They don't even sound like English words.
"What does that mean?!" My eyebrows furrow as I get more irritated
"It's another word for the S word," Amber says placing her hand on my shoulder as she wiggles her eyebrows.
"Oh My Gosh! Amber-Rose, you are a disgusting human being!" I yell at my friend, jumping with shock, who laughs at my expression.
"Are you denying it though?" She asks and raises her eyebrows at me
"Yes. I did not fucked anyone," I tell her, crossing my arms moodily
Chase and Amber-Rose burst into a fit of laughter, "Say it again?" Chase asks through laughter
"You didn't say my name again when I asked," reply with the same moody tone and expression, not understanding why they are laughing at me.
"Well I don't take orders from little girls," he tells me as he regains his composure, as he glances at me.
My tongue moves around my mouth as my mouth slightly opens.
"You need to stop doing that," Amber-Rose calls from the back seat.
"Oh, because Mackenzie said you'll want to know what my mouth do," I recall what my friend said yesterday, turning towards Chase
Amber-Rose behind her fits of laughter, hunching over and wheezing from laughing and Chase looks over at me to see if I was serious before chuckling.
Just the sound of him chuckling gave me this odd feeling, just like when he said my name but worse.
We pull up to the school and people gawk at Chase's car as Amber-Rose gets out of the backseat.
"Thank you for the ride," I smile at Chase
"Please, you were the entertainment in this ride, Nadine," he says my name slowly
I narrow my eyes slightly before smiling at him, "For the record, yes I know Spanish. I just wanted to know if you'd taunt me because you thought I didn't understand what you are saying," I tell him before getting out, I wave before he winks at me.
He drives away and I jog over to my friends. Mackenzie and Amber-Rose were laughing.
"She said 'I did not fucked anyone," Amber-Rose told her before they broke into another dying fit of laughter
"I don't get it," I tell them
"Of course, you wouldn't," Mackenzie said as their laughter slightly dies
We were slightly later than usual so the bell rang just then. So we proceeded to first period together, as the thought, and presence of Chase lingered in my mind.
