i built a garden in your basement
[you would've loved
the bits of clover and sage]
and an orchard in your attic
[the apples and pears
would've thrived under your care]
i just wish i could
tend a home, in your heart
[i built a world around you
simply to satisfy your needs,
was the mutual want
to be near each other
all in my head?]
