Y/N POV:
Me and the gang are just flying around, with nothing better to do than try everyone's new dragon suits out. Spring is in the air and we want to cherish it. I take a deep breath and let out a happy shriek, making the twins cover their ears, Fishlegs and Hiccup flinch, Snotlout rolls his eyes and Eret just laughs. Astrid starts shrieking with me and soon we're all just flying haphazardly, shrieking and yelling at the top of our lungs.
-Oh shut up! A man yells at us, and we laugh.
Suddenly Valka joins us and laughs at our silly antics. I throw my arms out to my sides and take a deep breath of the flowing air.

-I love the smell of spring, I say happily.
-You love the smell of everything, Snotlout comments.
-So? Let me, I say.
-Hiccup, have you finished the suits yet? Valka asks Hiccup.
-Almost... I just need the twins to stop changing their helmet designs, he sighs.
-Hey! We want them to look absolutely perfect for our first mission! Tuffnut defends.
-Yeah! I wanna make a good impression in case another dragon hunter finds me attractive, Ruffnut adds. Eret chuckles and looks over at me. I shake my head and roll my eyes.
-Well, let us know, Valka says and nods to me and Eret before flying away.

Me, Eret and Valka have been assigned scouting positions on and over Berk for intruders and dragon hunters. We didn't want to be unprepared in case they come and try take our dragons. We had been in the position since the ice of the water melted away from the suns warm rays. Hiccup had made himself and Eret a fireproof suit for scouting and possible dragon saving too. And if I dare say so myself, Eret did NOT look bad in his suit.

I lean against d/n as I wait for him to finish putting on his suit. My suit was now my everyday outerwear, so I was over and done with that already. I look down on the ground and watch the breeze softly make the grass move.
-It feels weirder and weirder the more I wear it, I hear Eret say and I look up. He adjusts his arm covers and I smile. He looks at me and smiles nervously. I stand up from my leaning position.
-Looking dashing, as usual, I say and brush off some dust from his chest. He sighs.
-It still feels weird... I'm wearing my... my dragon, Eret says and I giggle.
-No, just the old scales from your dragon, I say and tuck away some stray baby hairs from his forehead. He relaxes and a full smile breaks out on his face.
-How is it that you always know what to say? Eret asks and I shrug.
-I try, I smile and he chuckles.
-But if I may make a request, I say and poke his chin.
-Wear the suit more often. I want to stare at you more, I flirt casually.
-Really? Eret says and looks at his suit.
-Are you sure you don't wanna see me without the suit? Eret then jokes and I scoff playfully and smack his chest. Eret pulls me closer by the waist.
-You look beautiful, he then says and we share a kiss.

-Guys, really? Really? Snotlout asks. Me and Eret pull away and I stick my tongue out at him. His horns on his helmet grew during the winter, and so did his ego. Valka walks towards us from behind Snotlout without him noticing it and she puts a hand on his shoulder. Snotlout immediately straightens in his back and looks absolutely terrified.
-Well I say we should get going, Valka says and nods to me and Eret. Eret nods back at her before he kisses the top of my head and lets go off me. I jump onto d/n and Eret jumps onto Skullcrusher beside me. Valka then jumps onto Cloudjumper.
-So, eh, Hiccups mom, maybe you wanna join me for dinner tonight? Snotlout asks Valka sheepishly. Valka eyes widen.
-That's very, uh, nice of you Snotlout but um... Valka looks panicked at me and I stifle a laugh.
-I have important stuff to discuss with Hiccup, she says and immediately takes off.
-oh, ok, rain check then! Snotlout shouts after her. I giggle before me and Eret takes off.

Eret, Valka and I fly around the island looking out over the water for ships and other people. We see nothing and Valka leaves us to eat dinner as the sun begins setting. Me and Eret then decide to fly around the woods of Berk.

I exhale loudly and smile as wind flows past us. Eret looks at me and smiles.
-Can't stop staring, huh lover boy? I ask teasingly.
-that's correct love, he smiles and suddenly he gets hit in the face with a tree branch. I try stifling my laugh but I let it sound through the woods as Eret looks shocked around and his hair tie falls out. Then suddenly I feel myself get hit on the head with a branch. I look confused around and its now Eret's turn to laugh. I glare playfully at him and he chuckles.
-Its called karma, love, Eret says and I roll my eyes.

But little did we know.... We were both in the immediate line of a gazillion tree branches.
So we get hit, again, and again, and again, and again. I fly upwards and over the trees, Eret following shortly after.
We look at each other. I look at his hair. It was out and stops over his shoulders. It flows freely in the wind and small twigs and leaves and flowers are stuck in between hair strands. He looks at me too, and I bet I don't look any better. We lock eyes and begin laughing. Our dragons fly back towards the village and many people and dragons look up at us as our laughter rings between the houses.

Our dragons land outside of the great hall and we walk inside, giggling like little girls. Everyone stares at us as we sit beside them after grabbing our food.
-Wow, Eret, your hair's out! Hiccup points out and we stop laughing, but smiling like idiots. Erets runs a hand through his hair and his fingers catch onto som small twigs.
-Well, would you look at that? Eret says and throws away the twigs onto the floor.
-It looks nice. you should wear it down more often, I comment.
-Dragon suit and let down hair? is that your thing? Eret asks and I shrug and grin.
-I guess. I'm just saying it looks nice, I say and Eret smiles.
-No ones ever told me that before, he says and everyone looks at him in shock.
-Wait, really? Ruffnut asks.
-Yeah, it's more efficient to have it tied up, Eret says.
-I'm with Y/N on this one, you should wear it down more often, Astrid says and everyone agrees. Erets cheeks turn a light shade of pink.
-Thanks guys, he says and looks at me. I reach over the table and pull a big twig out of his hair and throws it away. He yanks something out of my hair and I see that its a small branch. I giggle before leaning back and trying to shake it out of my hair.

Later:

Eret and I are newly washed and I'm just combing through is hair with my fingers.
-Are you gonna braid it, or am I gonna have to do that myself? Eret asks jokingly.
-No, just let me enjoy your hair a bit more, I say. Eret chuckles and I sigh as I start braiding it.
-you'll wear it down to our wedding, right? I joke.
-Of course, my love, Eret jokes back and I smile, my cheeks turning pink. When I'm down with his braid, I tie the end and then I sit down in front of Eret.
(This is for long hair, or you can imagine that he's running his hand through your hair)
He combs though my hair with his fingers, before softly sectioning it out and starting to braid my hair. I close my eyes and sigh contently. When he's done, he ties the end with a hair tie and throws it to the side and onto my shoulder before kissing my neck. I lean back and look happily at him. He smiles down at me.

Spring is in the air....
