Tbh I felt bad for everything I put Ophelia through so I wantedto give her a therapy session.

"Do you love someone?" Asked the woman on the couch across from Ophelia's because of course, of fucking course, the sister of the woman who had given her a ride out of the hospital was a therapist who specialised in victims of emotional and physical abuse,

Her name was Doctor Tabitha Tanith and she was a children's psychologist who wasdoing her sister a favour by spending time with Ophelia, or rather 'Lavender', so there Ophelia was, sitting on the couch, holding a stuffed sun,

Therapy was perfectly normal, just Ophelia had no time to lose, and she appreciated it as a favour from such a kind stranger, but it was turning her into a sitting duck,

"What?"

"Love, is there someone you love. It's a positive emotion I usually like to start posi-" Ophelia scoffed unable to contain herself, "What? Is love not a positive emotion for you?"

"I didn't mean to scoff, I mean yeah love is great. Created that hallmark card industry and drives the movie industry, I love that it creates jobs, you know? Employment is very important," Said Ophelia,

"For you, Lavender, what is love to you?" Asked the therapist,

"Bonds you. You know? Like an energy between two people," She said, "I mean it's painful. I don't think I've ever loved someone who hasn't put me through some shit."

"Someone break your heart?" Asked Doctor Tanith, writing notes down,

"Who hasn't been heartbroken at least once? I'm sure you understand." Said Ophelia,

"How did your last relationship end?" Asked Doctor Tanith, and Ophelia took a shaky breath, and looked out the window, her face went blank,

"Just a clean break," She lied,

"Have you always been a compulsive liar, Lavender?" Asked Doctor Tanith, "You were escaping an abusive man when my sister found you. Why are you lying to me?"

"It's difficult."

"This is a judgement free zone, Lavender," Said Doctor Tanith,

"I had to run away. I left him at the altar, and I don't regret it." Said Ophelia,

"He wasn't your main abuser was he?" Asked Doctor Tanith, "There was something else, something that lifted off your shoulders on your wedding day that made you see clearly,"

"What? No, how could you possibly even know that? Are you psychic? Or um, really cool or something? I mean you need your own booth or tent at a carnival. You know I saw a poster on my way in, we could go you know? Some cotton candy and then the ferris wheel?" Said Ophelia, and Doctor Tanith furrowed her eyebrows and crossed one leg over the other,

"You're a very evasive person, Lavender," Said Doctor Tanith, "I'm going to cut to the chase, why did you leave him?"

"I had no reason to stay," Said Ophelia, her heart going quickly, "I don't want to talk about it."

"What do you want to talk about?" Asked Doctor Tanith, and Ophelia looked down,

"Politics and religion?" She said and the therapist laughed,

"That's one way to get to know each other," Said Doctor Tanith, and Ophelia nodded, "I think you have something you need to get off your chest,"

Ophelia felt like she couldn't breathe, and she felt this sharp feeling in her chest making it feel like there was a nice lodged in one of her lungs. A knife she couldn't pull out.
