Axle had actually seemed to manage waking up on time for breakfast, getting dressed just as Demi knocked on the door and then opened it
"AXLE!" She yelled loudly, full of energy and Axle poked his head out of the bathroom, in the midst of putting on his shirt and brushing his teeth
"Shut up" He managed, holding the toothbrush in his mouth and Demi laughed
"Look at you, waking up on time"
Axle just gave her the bird and continued brushing his teeth
Demi laughed and waited for him to finish before talking
"Alright, spill everything" She said excitedly
"Well... I found out he was born IN the Victorian era.. so he's gotta be nearly 4 centuries old if I remember the years of the era correctly" Axle stated and Demi's eyes widened
"Holy shit... Well, what's he like?" Demi asked and Axle hummed in thought
"He... was a bit standoffish, he never seemed to relax, but he didn't have a hard time asking or answering questions. He showed me around and he reads a lot, has an actual library in his house" Axle began, smiling a little
"He's just gotta warm up to you, I'm sure. And you're exaggerating" Demi said and Axle shook his head
"Nope, he had a bunch of bookshelves just filled with books, and he reads in this fancy chair in front of a fireplace"
"That sounds pretty cool.. What else?" Demi asked as they headed out
"You know how there aren't many houses near his? Well, he actually bought out a bunch of that land for that purpose, he didn't want to live near others... he said for his own protection" Axle stated before perking up "Oh! He also dresses just how you see vampires do.. that gothic style" He chuckled "But obviously, he's lived in that kind of clothing for all these years, so" Axle shrugged, and Demi giggled softly
"You retained a lot of information there, I'm surprised" Demi said teasingly "But that's awesome actually, I'm happy you guys have officially started off on the right foot" Demi said as they walked, smiling
"Yeah, it was a different atmosphere, it was really nice" Axle stated, looking up at the sky "He seemed really intrigued by the sunset and all" Axle added "I don't really think he's seen anything in a long time"
"How does he drink if he doesn't leave his house?" Demi asked and Axle shrugged
"I didn't ask.. but he seemed nervous at the mention of coming into town to look around and all"
"No way... he's really been holed up in that house for that long?"
"It seems like it" Axle said and sighed a little, opening the door to the cafe, this time going to find a seat as Demi went up to order.
Axle waited patiently for Demi to come to the table, looking out the window, and just thinking. He didn't have a plan for things with Viktor, but he figured that was alright, he can just go with the flow. He was planning out places to show Viktor if he ever decided that he wanted to go around town, which Axle was kind of hoping he would.
He soon got a kick in the leg and looked over, Demi sitting in front of him, about to start eating
"Hey, thanks" He said, starting to eat his own food "So, I want to plan out some things. I offered a tour of the town at night, and want some places to specifically go to if he winds up wanting to go" Axle said
"Awww, planning your first little date?" Demi teased and Axle perked up
"It's not a date"
"It might as well be, you keep on gushing over him and losing yourself in thought because of him" Demi pointed out and Axle opened his mouth to say something, but just gave her the bird again
"You're just mad that I'm right.. it's been what.. 4 days? And you've had one nice interaction where he didn't try and kill you but those near death times are what got you so interested in the first place"
"Yeah, they did. I'll admit that, easy, but I just want to be friends" Axle stated a bit defensively
"I'm teasing you, shut up" Demi said with a laugh and Axle rolled his eyes, continuing to eat his food and drink his coffee
"Is this going to be an every night thing?" Demi soon asked and Axle nodded gently
"Yeah, I think so. I think the consistency would be nice for him to have to help get used to me and the interacting" Axle said and Demi nodded
"Sounds about right. He won't be surprised or anything. It's like exposure therapy" She said with a little smile and Axle chuckled
"Yeah, we can use that term" He said and relaxed some, finishing his food and waiting for Demi
"You work?" Axle asked soon enough and Demi checked her phone, nodding
"Yeah, but later than usual" she said, humming a little bit
"Hmm.. Do you want a ride there? I gotta run some errands" He asked and Demi perked up
"Hell yeah, let's cruise!" Demi exclaimed, smiling as she got up, chugging down the rest of her coffee and Axle followed suit, the two heading back to Axle's place.
Axle had a weird feeling in all honesty, glancing behind them but noticing no one out of the usual.
He sighed to himself and shook his head, grabbing his keys so he could get into the car right away, unlocking the doors once in range.
They both got in the car and Axle made his way to the store
"So, what do you need?" Demi asked
"Just food stuff, I'm thinking of cooking stuff on a regular basis" Axle stated
"Oh, yeah, been eating out a lot and not getting in all your meals" Demi said and Axle nodded
"Yeah, I gotta get back on that" Axle chuckled some "So, best way is to buy groceries and stuff so I have to cook, so I don't waste my money" he added
"Fair enough.. I think I might grab some stuff too" Demi said, tapping her chin in thought
"If you do, I'll drop the stuff off at your house after taking you to work"
"You're awesome" Demi stated rather happily and Axle chuckled
"Do you think vampires can eat the food we make?" Axle asked and Demi took a moment
"That's a very good question.. are you trying to think of something to make for Viktor?" She asked with a small laugh
"Well, since I visit him at night, that'll be the time of my last meal, so if he can eat, I could bring my dinner and something for him" he explained and Demi smiled softly
"Definitely ask him, but I hope he can" Demi said, giving a little giggle. Axle shook his head gently, humming quietly
