-- Harry's POV --

Caden's arrival triggered a change in Sealgair's household and Northern region in general. For better or worse.

He's the most mysterious person I ever encounter.

From the outside, he looks plain. Just a son of a noble house. His appearance is very mundane. Brown hair, brown eyes, traits that are common here. He is a Beta, so it's very normal to look ordinary.

Darren asked me to keep my eyes close to him by being his assistant.

My first impression, such a pitiful human being. Forced to come here, far away from his home, getting wed to Darren. I don't want to badmouth Darren. He took me in when I was young, orphaned, and homeless. Still, I can't deny how bad his temper was and how brutal he handles things. He doesn't go easy on people, especially those he marked as enemies.

I thought Caden would not stay here for that long. Divorce is bound to happen.

Strangely, it never went south.

Even after days, weeks, I witness how bad Darren treats him, how the staff shows zero respect to him, Caden ignores them and acts like it was nothing. I assume divorce is not an easy thing, especially for nobles. I couldn't do anything and it makes me feel very sorry for him.

When Caden asked for a secluded area and used it to practice and exercise privately, seeing his skill, I knew something was not right. The more I observe, the more I realize that Caden is not how the rumor portrayed him. His vast knowledge, his carefree acts in town, his ignorance about status, and every common sense about the world. He is not ordinary.

I start helping him, reporting half-truth, covering his odd behavior in hope so Darren would get tired of him and ignore him at all. Caden doesn't like attention. Sadly, Darren seems to notice my lies.

Months pass and before I know it, Darren changes.

I notice how his gaze would linger on Caden, how he would take extra attention regarding his well being.

The most noticeable change is after they came back from their trip. Years working here, I never knew Darren had a soft side, but he shows it towards Caden. Caden himself never asked me about Darren's change of behavior. He keeps his usual attitude, likes there's nothing different.

Darren's affections are getting worse, in a good way, since the beginning of this year. Darren would randomly give Caden hugs and kisses, in public. He smiles a lot around Caden. Well, they are married and have been living together so, the romance probably blossoms?

I don't know, I'm not married.

Darren changed a lot. He still has a bad temper but his approach to handling problems is calmer and more rational. Also, ever since Caden helped Darren on his work, he rarely looks grumpy or annoyed towards everyone.

That's probably why others' demeanor towards Caden improved a lot. Or they are just afraid of getting on Darren's bad side. I'm just happy for Caden, even though the person himself never looks bothered.

Yet, he still is the most mysterious person.

He is like an open book that I can't comprehend the content. I doubt I would be surprised if I hear surprising facts about him. I can't understand him.

I sighed, currently standing in front of the master bedroom with a lunch tray on my side.

Neither Darren nor Caden have come out of their room since last night.

Darren asked for a private dinner yesterday. As he clearly instructed not to approach them at all, no one dares.

This morning, when I knocked for breakfast, Darren said they would come late. But they never did. Skipping breakfast, then.

Everyone can imagine what happened inside. It's their wedding anniversary so... yeah.

As the sun rises higher, I told the staff to prepare lunch on the tray. That they will eat lunch in their bedroom. That's why now I stand again in front of their room, once again, with some food besides. I doubt they'll even leave their room today.

I knock.

I wait.

No answer.

I knock again, telling them about the food that I brought.

I heard steps approaching.

The door opens slightly and I could immediately smell the dominating scent leaking out of this room. I feel dizzy just from the outside. Dominant Alpha's pheromone is as intoxicating as Omega's. I don't think I can stay in this room for too long without losing my sanity.

Darren showed up in his bathrobe, looking fresh, clearly just finished taking a bath. I noticed some kiss marks on his skin. Caden is wild.

"Master Darren, I brought lunch for you two," I said, slightly bowing.

Darren looked at the tray beside me before swinging the door to open wider, telling me to bring the food in.

Slowly, I push the tray inside, being professional, ignoring all the obvious messiness that proves what just happened last night. Like, clothes lying everywhere.

I stopped the tray beside the small table that they used for dinner yesterday. Picking up the empty plates from yesterday, cleaning the tables, putting new foods on it. Darren sits on one of the chairs, picking the glass of water, and starts drinking. Once finished my works, I push the tray back and retread, keeping my head low.

"Harry, can you pick my nightgown there?"

I looked up and saw Caden who was starting to get up and sit on the bed called me. I see the dark fabric hanging on the chair. I pick it before walking to him.

The closer I approached Caden, the more difficult it was to ignore his state.

Okay, I need to retract my previous thought. Darren's appearance was nothing in comparison to Caden's.

It's not my first time seeing him like this but it doesn't mean I get used to it. With wrinkled blanket only cover his bottom half, his upper body is completely naked for me to see.

His pale skin makes the red bruise that purposely being left on it appear brighter. Hickeys cover his neck and chest area along with some bite marks. His nipple looks swollen and there's also a bite mark around his left one. He looks tired, obviously from the lack of sleep.

It's hard not to blush upon seeing him.

Again, Caden himself doesn't look bothered by the state his body was in. He receives the nightgown, putting it loosely on, before getting out of the bed. It was very quick but I caught a glimpse of red marks on his smooth thigh. He stood up and when he walked past me, I can smell Darren's scent strongly covered his entire body, claiming Caden to himself. These enticing looks just increase Caden's sex appeal by several folds. A very dangerous seductive view.

I really don't want to know what happened last night.

Caden sat down across Darren, taking small bites of fruits, start chatting together. With my head stay low, hiding my growing red face, I walk back and push the tray out. After giving the final bow from the door, I close it behind, leaving the two of them. I let out a deep breath that I unconsciously hold.

It's a wise decision for them to stay in their room today.

They are both dangerous, inside out.
