For the next ten months, Izuku trained for the entrance exam. Anytime he got hurt, Hanako would heal him and even give him tips on how to improve. At one point she noticed he had been overworking himself, but knowing she did the same thing, didn't want to be a hypocrite. Within the ten months, the friendship between Izuku, Hanako, and Kiki grew stronger than before. Although more specifically, Izuku had grown much closer to Hanako. He admired her in many ways and used her as an example for his training.

'What would Hanako do?' or 'Hanako would have an easy time with this!' He would think. It helped his motivation. If he could prove himself to her, he would be satisfied.

Currently, it was the morning of the exam. Hanako, All Might, and Kiki had all arrived at the beach to meet Izuku and check in on his progress.

"HAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!" Izuku screamed from the top of his lungs, standing on top of a pile of trash.

"Hey hey, holy crap kid! You even cleaned up outside the area I told you to! Seriously, there's not one speck of trash left on this beach! Only a few minutes to spare, but you exceeded my expectations! Holy...stinkin'...SUPER CRAP!!" All Might bellowed, turning into his muscular form.

Exhaustion finally catching up to him, Izuku began to sway, feeling dizzy. He fell of the pile, preparing to hit the ground. But he never did. He opened his eyes slowly to see Hanako's smiling face. She had caught him.

"You did great Izuku!" She praised. Izuku blushed, giving the girl a tired smile.

'That smile...I feel so, so warm...' He thought.

"I finished everything you guys...I did it...do you think I'm ready now?" Izuku breathed out.

"Yeah, you did good, kid. I gotta say I'm impressed!"

Hanako set Izuku down, who was now able to stand up properly.

"I knew you had it in you but this is beyond!" All Might pulled out his phone, showing the pair the pictures of Izuku ten months ago.

"Look at this."

"Um..."

"It's you, crying, ten months ago!"

The boy quickly became embarrassed as the girl beside him let out a light giggle.

"Look how far you've come! Such improvement! There's still a long road ahead of you before you can inherit my full power set. But it's starting to look like you can do it!"

Izuku smiled.

"All Might...do I deserve this? Are you sure? You put so much time and energy into helping me..." Happy tears streamed down his face.

"How did I end up so lucky?" All Might laughed.

"It was your hard work that did this, not mine," he replied, slapping his hand on Izuku's back.

"Now, for your reward, Izuku Midoriya!"

"Yes sir!"

All Might pulled a single strand of hair from his head, holding it out to Izuku.

"Someone told me this once: there's a difference between being lucky and deserving. One, an accident, the other, a reward. Never get the two confused! Take that to heart, young man. This gift, you earned it with your own valiant efforts."

All Might stretched his hand out, hair in hand.

"EAT THIS."

While Izuku was confused, Hanako began to laugh at the scene in front of her.

"Huh?"

"To inherit my power you've got to swallow some of my DNA that's how it works!"

"This isn't exactly how I imagined it!"
