Chapter 84: A Rocky Start

Aria, Wu, and P.I.X.A.L come into the room to see a pile of luggage in the middle of the room.

"Oh god" Aria covers her face

"What is the meaning of this?" Wu questions

"We're off on our quest, remember? To hone our Ninja skills" Lloyd replies

"How long are you going for?" Wu asks

Jay shrugs "I dunno. Day or two?"

"Just like you always say: Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" Cole says

Wu shakes his head "I never said that"

Jay sticks his head in Wu's face "Ha! And you say we never listen!"

"I never said that either" Wu sighs

"I've said that" Aria comments

"Master Wu Master Aria, perhaps this is an opportunity to field test the new joint tactical vehicles" P.I.X.A.L suggests

"Oh! What new joint tac-wha?" Kai questions confused

"And let these idiots ruin them already" Aria says

P.I.X.A.L. opens the shoji doors to the living room. The Ninja watch as she produces three shurikens and throws them at a target. The target lifts up, revealing a button. P.I.X.A.L. presses it and the T.V. moves down to reveal a hidden door. P.I.X.A.L. scans her hand to start the elevator.

"Did anyone know this was here?" Lloyd asks

"yes" Aria replies walking past him

Cole looks at him "No"

"Ugh. Nobody tells me anything" Kai complains

"We've been working on it for the past six months" P.I.X.A.L explains

"I didn't even notice any construction!" Jay shouts

P.I.X.A.L stares at Jay disapprovingly "You were playing video games"

The group enters the new secret base.

"Whoa!" the ninja shout in amazement

Jay grabs Lloyd and shakes him "We have a secret base!"

Nya points to the Land Bounty "What's that?"

"It is a heavily armored, six-wheeled mobile command vehicle. We call it the Land Bounty" Aria replies

"Dibs on the cycle!" Cole shouts running towards it

Jay looks at the vehicles "Hmmm..."

Kai runs to one "I got the red one!"

Lloyd, Zane, Nya and Jay get on the Land Bounty

P.I.X.A.L looks at them "Each vehicle is equipped with an operations manual. Please be sure to thoroughly read—"

The Ninja zoom out on their vehicles.

P.I.X.A.L stares after them "...did they even bring the luggage?"

Wu rubs his head "Master Aria maybe you should go after them"

"Already planned that" Aria sighs

Beohernie dives a bit in the sand and starts coming towards the Ninja.

Cole looks back at Beohernie, stumbles over a rock and falls "Woah"

"Cole!" Jay shouts

"Oh-oh. My guzzler!" Cole shouts

Lloyd shakes his head "Forget it! Run!"

Cole gets up and starts running. The soda guzzler disappears into Beohernie's mouth.

"Don't look back, Cole! Trust me! Just run!" Lloyd shouts

Cole jumps on his motorcycle.

Jay gets on the Land Bounty, he looks to see the Beohernie gone "Eh, where is it? Where did it go?"

Kai stops his buggy and looks out. Beohernie appears behind the Land Bounty.

"It's... under us. Get us out of here, Zane!" Lloyd shouts

"Hold on, everyone!" Zane starts up the engine and tries to get away but it isn't moving fast enough

"Give it more gas!" Lloyd shouts

"The engine is at maximum acceleration" Zane tells him

Beohernie starts dragging the Land Bounty backwards.

Lloyd wails "Hooolddd onnn"

"To whaaat!?" Jay shouts

"Eh. Uh, Cole. Kai! We need help!" Nya shouts

"How do you work this thing?" Kai questions looking down at his bike

Huge blasts of purple fire is sent at the Beohernie, it topples over. Lloyd looks up and sees a dragon.

"Thanks Aria!" the ninja shout up at the dragon

Beohernie leaps into the air back onto its feet

Kai laughs woridly "Haha... Oh, I think he's angryyy..."

Beohernie gets ready to charge at Kai.

"It's gonna charge. Get out of there!" Lloyd shouts

Kai pulls the lever to move backwards, with Beohernie pursuing him. Aria swoops down and knocks the Beohernie on it's side again allowing Kai to get farther away. Aria looks at Lloyd and roars.

"Ok thanks!" Lloyd shouts to her, the ninja stare at him confused, he looks at them "What? I'm picking up on dragon. Aria says we need to get out of the sand, their's a giant rock up ahead. If we can make it to those rocks, we might have a chance"

Nya nods "It's worth a shot, if the engine holds out" she calls on her radio to Cole and Kai "Guys, there's some rocks due north. Head for those, okay?" Cole signals her, letting her know "ok, on three. One, two, three!" They head out, Beohernie leaps out of the sand and chases them "Here he comes!"

Aria swoops down and knocks the Beohernie on it's side once again, she roars and the Beohernie gets back up and leaps at her. She quickly dodges and roars. She blasts fire at it and it shrieks. It leaps forwards and bits her leg, she roars in pain. She breaths fire at it's dace and it lets go.

She flies over to the ninja who made it to the rock with the Land Bounty half destroyed. The ninja were all standing together on the rock, they move back as they notice her coming to land. She lands in front of them and turns back to her human form, she immediately falls to the ground and holds her leg.

"Aria" Lloyd runs over to her with the ninja following

"It bit me" Aria tells him, she moves her hands to reveal her bleeding leg

Lloyd rips his sleeve and wraps it around her leg "It'll be ok"

Aria nods, Lloyd stands up and picks her up.

"Thanks for coming to help us Aria" Cole says "Sorry you got hurt"

Aria shakes her head "I should've been more careful, besides, it's my job to save you all"

The ninja smile

Jay sighs "This is the worst quest ever"

They hear a distant roar. The ninja look around to see 3 Beohernie's circling their rock.

Lloyd holds Aria tighter against his chest "This is not good. This is really, really not good"
