"Uhh" Abi drops herself into the seat across from me "this is the longest shift of my life!"

I laugh at her dramatics "Really? It's going pretty quick for me"

Then again, that's probably because I don't want to go home

"Are you crazy?" She huffs "Speaking of crazy, what happened you? You look like you had a hot guy keeping you up all night"

Oh how right you are, only for all the wrong reasons.

"I didn't get much sleep last night" I tell her "and I had another five thirty start"

Abi sighs "Babes you really need to cut down on this work thing or you're going to fall apart and if you fall apart who's going to stop me from going crazy in this place?"

I smile thankful for her concern even though I think it's unnecessary "You've been working the past two days as well"

"Fresh out of a week off" she gives me a stern look "and I'm off tomorrow"

"So am I"

"Great" She grins "We'll go out, let loose and hopefully you'll realise it's not all about work"

I laugh and shake my head, the device attached to the pocket of my trousers buzzes and I pick it up to see it's one of my patience requesting assistance "Suits me, text me details" I stand up and grab my empty salad bowl to throw in the trash on my way out "I've been summoned"

Abi gives me a mock salute "Until next time"

It's three hours later when I finally drop myself into the drivers seat of my car. I lean my forehead against the steering wheel willing myself to ignore the scent left in the car from last night

At least he wears the same deodorant

Thats probably the only part of his past that he wants to remember, the rest obviously never meant much to him,

Myself included.

As I pull up outside my house, I don't have the relaxed feeling I usually have when I have a day off, tense would be a good word to describe how I'm feeling - Tired being another option.

It's silent when I step into the house. I push the door shut, lock it behind me and throw my keys into their assigned bowl. I decide ignorance is bliss and that I can deal with the stress that comes in the form of a human a little later

I mean, it's not like he's going anywhere

An intense core workout, shower and overthinking session later, I make my way back downstairs. Simon is still no where to be found but judging from the light shining out on the porch in my backyard that's probably where he is. I take the opportunity to glance in the mirror and check my appearance - I opted on a bright outfit, my wavy blonde hair is is cascading down my back and I let my naturally olive toned skin have some breathing air from makeup
