Chapter 7: The Aftermath

(Y/n's) POV

After the villain attack, everyone was sent home. Due to their worry, your uncle and cousin didn't let you leave the house without them. After a few days, you were allowed to join your whole class in order to go check on Midoriya and Momo. You convinced your uncle that you would be fine on your own.

Not becoming a shock to anyone, the talk of Bakugou came up. Then, Kirishima came up with an insane plan to get Bakugou back. He then continued, saying that Momo and a kid named Awase from Class B put a tracking device on one of the villains. Connected to that device was another that received the signal.

This caused everyone to get into a debate on whether to go or not. You were one of the people who chose not to in the end. While exiting the room, you overheard Kirishima say that he was gonna come back that night. 'Should I go?' You wondered, internally cursing yourself for the events that had previously unfolded. 'I wasn't able to do anything to save Bakugou. Is it possible for me to still help?'

(Todo's POV)

'I'm glad (Y/n) decided not to go. If she had, she could've been hurt.' While waiting for Momo and Midoriya's answer, I questioned if she considered making the tracing device or not. When they both walked out of the hospital, Iida was walking up to us, saying that this was a stupid idea. In the end, he caved at the possibility of ensuring Bakugou's safety. Momo explained that she would help with the operation as well. Everyone was determined to complete this rescue plan.

When we got there, Momo came up with a suggestion that involved obtaining disguises. After a quick stop at a nearby clothes shop, they all looked a little less out of place in Yokohama city.

Eventually, we found the location and snuck into a very small ally. There was a window where we could see into the building, which prompted Midoriya to get onto my shoulders and Kirishima on Iida's. I couldn't see anything, but Midoriya and Kirishima claimed they saw more Nomu's. Kirishima cautiously  looked back towards the main road, when Mt. Lady suddenly crushed the entire building in a massive show of strength.

We were beginning to retreat until someone strode out of a part of the building that was still standing. Best Jeanist immediately captured the man once he was entirely visible. The man retaliated, however, attacking and eventually knocking Best Jeanist onto the ground. None of us standing behind the puny wall could say anything. We were too shocked to even move, let alone take action.

"Damn it... the hell?"

I recognized that voice, it was Bakugou! Before we could do anything, the other villains were there, as though they had appeared out of nowhere! I saw Midoriya and Kirishima attempt to save Bakugou, but not without Iida and Momo stopping them. Before any of us knew it, All Might was fighting the villain. We didn't know what to do, thoughts going a mile a minute. How would they get out of this situation with Bakugou? Midoriya, always one to think quickly, came up with a plan.

"Iida, everyone."

They all knew that look in his eye. "You, can't Midoriya!"

"No, there's a way! A way that won't involve fighting. A way that will let us leave this place safely, while also saving Kacchan."

Despite a few apprehensive looks, they replied.

"Let's hear it."

"This is my plan. First, we'll propel ourselves with my quirk and Iida's Recipro. Then, with Kirishima's hardening, we'll break through the wall. The second it opens up, I want Todoroki to make a path of ice for us. We're propelled as high as possible. By that time, the villains will have outmaneuvered us. But, we're now in a position to outmaneuver them. Thus, we'll cross the battlefield at a height they can't reach."

With that said, the plan is in motion. The three of them are flying through the air, Bakugou in tow. However, they were losing altitude, and fast. Mt. Lady blocked a villain that went to go get them, but this didn't stop the fact that they were falling and losing speed. Then, out of the rubble appeared a large hand made out of dirt. It was heading toward Midoriya's group. Instead of attacking them, though, it launched them higher and faster than we had planned. I looked around to see who could be doing this, spotting a cloaked figure near the end of the ally. I caught their eye before they quickly ran away, the hand coincidently breaking down at that exact moment.

"Todoroki, this is our chance to run while the villains are distracted!"

We run out of the alley and slow down once we're in a public area. 'Who was that person in the cloak...?' He wondered.

(Y/n's) POV

While running away from the scene, the only thing you could think was. 'I hope Todoroki doesn't realize it was me. But I did it, I finally helped!" Once you reached a public area you took the cloak off and got on the train to get back home. You were watching the news, and you were surprised, shocked, and sad to discover that All Might has retired.  But felt inspired when he said the words.

"Now it's your turn." He says while pointing at the camera.

After the train ride you got back home. You snuck out of the house so you had to be extremely quiet getting back in. You climb up to your bedroom window and open it very quietly. You make it into your room and no one woke up until the light flicked on.

"Mind explaining where you have been?" Your uncle dramatically spun around in the swivel chair in your room.

"I was out with...Riku, yeah we went out with friends to get some food."

"Wanna try again?" Riku did the same dramatic turn around in another swivel chair next to your uncle.

"So...where, were you?" Your uncle asks again.

"Would you believe I was out with friends?"

"What friends?" Riku replied with.

You couldn't help but feel offended at the comment. Although it was quite true. You finally gave in and admitted to where you were.

"I was...in Yokohama city." Silence fills the room for only a few seconds.

Both: "WHERE THE VILLAIN FIGHT WAS!!!"

"There was a chance we could get our classmate back. And I didn't help at all when Bakugou was captured. Then when I had that chance, I couldn't help but feel obligated to assist."

"I understand that you wanted to help your friend." Your uncle says while standing up to give you a hug. "But that doesn't mean you're not grounded."

"Wh...Wait, but... uncle!"

"No buts, you still snuck out of the house, and could have gotten yourself hurt."

"Ugh, fine I guess it's fair. Now can you two get out? I wanna go to sleep."

"Oh uhh, yeah we can leave, let's go Riku."

They exited the room and you got ready for bed.
