'the fire nation controls the western lake. rumor has it they're working on something big on the other side, and they don't want anyone to find out what it is.' said suki as we noticed a fire nation ship in the waters.

suddenly, the path gave way beneath than and he was only just saved by an earth bending move from toph.

'i'm okay.'

but some of the pathway fell into the lake and alerted the ship.

the launched a catapult up at us and aang jumped up and hit it away.

'they've spotted us! let's go, let's go!' screamed sokka

we ran and they sent another one, hitting the wall above suki and me and almost falling on top of us

i made a ball of air to protect us and jumped to the side, falling on top of suki and popping the bubble.

'oh sorry' i said, looking down at her as we both blushed.

'it-its okay' she stuttered, and i helped her up.

we sprinted across the path and only stopped when it got to night.

'hi' i said, smiling nervously at suki

'follow me' she whispered, leading me behind some rocks once sokka had turned his back.

'why did you-' i began.

but i couldn't finish my sentence because suki kissed me.

i was surprised, of course.

'suki, im sorry i-'

i didnt have time to process it.

'im sorry' she said looking away, 'i shouldn't have'

i took her hand, 'it's okay, just...'

my mind drifted to sokka, how he'd feel if he knew.

why was i thinking of him?

goddamnit y/n.

it woukd crush him if he knew.

but maybe he deserves it.

who am i kidding. of course he doesnt.

'can we be friends?' i asked

she looked at my eyes, smiling sadly, 'yeah. thatd be nice'

then, we heard a voice come from nowhere.

'sukiiiiiii' called sokka, stepping behind the rock.

i took her hands and she smiled weakly as i somersaulted both of us above the rock and into the camp again.

'suk-' he began, before seeing us sitting down, 'oh'

'uh ill see you in a bit,' i said, letting go of her hands and trying to hide my face.

i walked over to toph who seemed to be all alone and she didn't greet me.

'hi toph' i said, sitting next to her on the ledge.

she jumped a bit and threw some pebbles at me.

'STOP SNEAKING UP ON ME' she said, elbowing me as well.

'i didnt sneak up on you!' i said defensively, and then realised something, 'wait are my footsteps really that light?'

she sighed, 'you're basically floating the whole time - i dont know how you keep it up.'

i looked down and she spoke again after a brief pause.

'i know by the way - i saw'

'you saw what?' i said - not entirely convincingly, 'there's nothing to see what could you have seen'
