I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I knocked on the door in front of me.
It'd already been a crazy night, and it was probably about to get crazier.
I wasn't able to live with my mom anymore, and if I wasn't able to be with NCT Dream or ITZY...who would I go to.
The answer is the only people left that I knew.
The people at the bottom of my list.
EXO.
I hesitantly knocked on the door.
To be honest, I wasn't really expecting to get an answer from anyone. EXO's party was still technically happening at this very second, and if it was "EXO's Spring Party", the chances were that EXO wouldn't be home right now.
I was wrong.
The door opened.
I quickly pulled my fist away and waited to see who it was.
"J-Jiwoo?", the person at the door said.
"B-Baekhyun?", I was equally as surprised.
"What the heck are you doing here?", he rubbed his eyes and looked at me again, like he was trying to figure out if he was hallucinating or not.
"What are you not doing at the party?", I asked.
"I had work to do at home", he said, "So the members said I was sick..."
He continued to stare at me like I was an alien.
I looked behind me for a second into the dark lawn. I was paranoid about anyone seeing me.
"Look", I sighed, "I had a long night, and I'd prefer to explain things to you inside"
"How do I know that you're not pulling something again?", Baekhyun glared.
"Check my backpack!", I whisper-yelled, "Check my pockets! I'm not hiding anything...I just have no where else to go at the moment!"
"Fine", he said, "But if you decide to pull something stupid, and if I live through it, you're buying me dinner"
I rolled my eyes, "Whatever"
Baekhyun sarcastically gestured for me to go in.
When I took a step inside, I looked around the place as I took my shoes off. Sure, I was technically with EXO, and I knew where their house was; but because of everything that happened with NCT Dream, I never got a good look at their place.
Baekhyun walked me down the hall and into the living room. "I hope you have a good excuse for coming here", he said, "The others probably won't let you stay if you don't"
"I have good reasons", I gripped the straps on my backpack tightly as I followed him, "...I think"
I sat down on the couch.
"So", Baekhyun went into the kitchen and grabbed a box of crackers and some juice for me, "Why not you start with telling me why you're here"
He put the snacks on the coffee table in front of me and sat down next to me.
I fidgeted with the cuffs on my hoodie and looked at the carpet for a second.
"I know you're scared of us after seeing what we do", Baekhyun said, "But I promise you that you can tell me what happened", he continued, "I'm not here to hurt you"
I nodded. "The party.", I started, "EXO pulled something on NCT Dream, didn't they"
"To be honest", Baekhyun looked at me, "Yes. Yes we did"
"Ok, well", I sighed, "Jaemin got caught in the building in the middle of an explosion..."
Baekhyun listened attentively.
"He's alive, but he didn't want any of us helping him", I explained, "I looked into his records at the Seoul City Hall a couple weeks ago, and if all the information on his profile was right", I paused, "I think he wanted to stay to figure things with Kai"
"Doesn't surprise me", Baekhyun said, "Kai probably wants to figure things out with Jaemin"
"Yeah...", I stared off into space a little.
"Jiwoo", he relaxed a little, "I honestly don't think that the other members gonna be that mad at you", he put one ankle on top of the other, "Sehun, especially. You're just confused, and I guess you have the rights to be"
"We'll only know how they'll feel about it until after I explain myself"
"Well, you blew it once", he said, "So, just don't blow it again"
I smacked my lips.
"Ok, its late", he looked at me, "You know where everything is...I think you should think about going to bed"
I nodded and stood up. "Thank you", I smiled, "I wouldn't have anywhere else to go if it wasn't for you"
But even if I was allowed here...It didn't necessarily mean I belonged.
