The conversation was clearly heard by the two ladies out the door.

Cecil was familiar with these events, since they were shown in the original novel. However, it was shown from Veau's point of view. She did not know about Hana's parents, because, just like K'xug, they were only mentioned but never made an official appearance in the novel.

So even the powerful Veau did not notice the presence of Hana's parents.

The master hermit of the heavenly mountains, who exactly is he?

Cecil knew Veau visited the master hermit, but the author only briefly introduced the character. He only appeared in two scenes throughout the entire novel.

"Ugh!"

Hana clutched at her head, groaning.

Cecil gasped, supporting Hana as she whispered in concern.

"Hana? What's wrong?"

"Again…it's the same voice," Hana spoke lowly, shaking her head. "So weird…"

Hana is regaining another memory? So soon?!

A frown creased Cecil's forehead, and she heard Hana yawning loudly beside her.

She rubbed her eyes sleepily, pouting. "Cecil, I think I will go sleep on your bed first, let's talk tomorrow…"

"Ah, Hana--"

"Goodnight…" Hana trudged away.

"Goodnight…" Cecil trailed off, not wanting to stop Hana since she looked awfully tired.

Moreover, there weren't any signs of Hana fainting.

Hana...she seems to be taking the information from the conversation rather casually.

However, what Cecil did not know was halfway through the conversation, Hana had actually started to zone out. Her mind was stuck on rolling around the bed, and chatting with Cecil until they fell asleep.

Seeing that her best friend was so intent on eavesdropping, Hana decided not to interfere though she was sleepy and zoning out.

Cecil resumed her eavesdropping, wondering how Xue would react to the next few words that Tatsui would say.

In the original novel, Xue did not know about these events.

I wonder...how he will react if he knows about it now.

She sighed to herself, it was this point of the novel where the scene was being played...that Cecil started to have second thoughts for Veau as the big bad villain of the story. At the same time, she had no doubt that Xue would be angry about this.

"...what happened after that?”

Tatsui met Xue’s eyes, his eyes ablaze with fury.

“The master and the demon lord seemed to chat like they were long time friends. We were quite a distance away from them and it was difficult to catch their words.”

Xue listened on, patient.

“From their conversation, it was obvious that the master and the demon lord were working together, but the master...was arguing with the demon lord. Nevertheless, the demon lord left soon enough, and the master called us out.”

Tatsui clenched his fists as he recalled the memory of his daughter lying unconscious inside the cage made of black magic. Both of them were helpless to rescue their daughter, and the master did not plan to let them rescue her either.
