Chapter 22

I sighed heavily as I felt my palms sweating because of nervousness. I bit my lips.

Reign, you have to think straight! Why am I even nervous? It felt like my anxiety is trying to feed up from my nervousness.

I can't even think straight. All I can think about was all about Jane going home and Jordan breaking up with her.

Jane is on her way back to the Philippines. Jordan wanted to talk to her the time her feet hits the land but I didn't let him. I told him to let Jane rest first then they'll talk.

I trusted Jordan enough to know that he would not change his mind anymore.

I know it is wrong to feel happy about other people's pain but I am, I am happy that I'll be able to finally, after 2 long years be free with Jordan. Without worrying about getting caught outside.

I won't need to feel guilty even more for stealing another girl's boyfriend. Yes, despite all those years, I also felt guilt because of all the lies I've told, for all the people that I've hurt. If you think I don't have it then you're wrong.

Guilt is like a monster filling me up inside and I'm scared because I know that if it gets too big I will just burst. It is something that's about to burst if I will not be able to let it out. But it did not burst, just before it could, things finally started to go right.

"Hey, what's wrong with you?" Kaiden ask as he held my watering hands.

I slightly smiled at him. I can't tell him. I can't tell Kaiden, I don't want him to be disappointed for what I did. He's not just my cousin but also my best friend and I am afraid that if I tell him he'll hate me.

"Nothing, I'm fine." Umiling ako sa kaniya.

Pinaningkitan niya ako ng mata at huminga ng malalim.

"Why are even sweating? It is not like you have an upcoming exams. I'll only be like that if their is an exam." Tumawa siya kaya natawa na din ako. "But no kidding, are you alright?" Sumeryoso siya at tinignan ako ng mabuti.

"Of course, I'm all right. Stop getting worried Lolo Kaiden." I snuck up my tongue at him.

Kaiden's presence was good enough to make me loosened up. My cousins presence was warm enough to make my gloomy day turn into something sunny and cozy.

While we are both talking, our cousins suddenly started to showed up one by one from I don't know where.

"Fuck, summer is so boring. Bakit ba nandito lang tayo sa pavilion? We should be having fun not coloring some books." Pabagsak na umupo si Uno sa libreng upuan katabi si Kiara.

"Uno, we don't really care about what you think so might as well shut up." Inikot ni Kendall ang mata sa pinsan.

Si Uno naman ay umakto na para bang nasaktan siya dahil sa sinabi ni Kendall. Hinawakan pa niya ang kaniyang dibdib at di kalaunan ay inirapan din si Kendall.

"First week of summer and we're all fucking dead." Uminom si Calvin sa baso niya at inikot-ikot iyon.

"Mas gusto ko pa sa University. All I can see here is our ugly girl cousins." Tumawa si Kyrie at nakipag high five pa sa kapatid ko na si Legion na tumawa din.

"Kyrie, you must think so highly of yourself. Do you think we want to be stuck with someone good for nothing like you?" Clary mocked him.

"Oh! Roasted!" Sumigaw si Kai sa Kuya niya.

Kuya Scott and Malachai are not here because they are now working under our family's company.

"Bakit ba nandito kayong tatlo? Maybe you should be more productive and get yourself a job." Tinuro ni Raika si Kyrie, Huxley at Kaiden.
