A/N: HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY TC!

He panted, his body groaning under him.

It had taken him roughly a week to pick it up, but now, after another few grueling weeks of practicing, he could feel it start to settle.

From the glint in Momo's eyes, he could tell she was having the same revelation.

Nighteye's technique, finally within reaching distance.

By no means were they masters at it. He knew that much.

Momo's left shoulder twitched, attack from the right . He didn't even flinch as she jabbed forward with a staff, the creation bursting out of her palm as she created it rapidly, the new creation barely scraping his helmet as he twisted his head just enough.

Now.

He closed the gap, his larger body twisting fluidly, surprising himself with the flexibility his body had, hand gripping at the generating staff.

He realized that this was the first time anyone had pulled on one of her creations before it was fully created before he tugged on the staff, trying to get her out of balance.

The sound wasn't something he was expecting to hear.

Both him and Momo stood stock still as the staff cracked, turning into dust in his hands, the woman hissing and shutting off the light show in her palm, signifying stopping her quirk.

"...What was that?" both mumbled, forgetting the spar, and looking at each other.

Both blinked and started to chuckle. Izuku focused on his neck muscles, commanding his helmet to disengage, smiling back at his girlfriend with mirth.

Momo's giggle fit faded, the dark-haired woman tapping her lips with a smile and looking down on the pile of black dust, Izuku following her lead and scratching his head.

"You got a theory on why that happened?" he asked finally after he couldn't find any answers on his own.

"I think it's because of how I create the 'diamond' structure," she explained, stepping over the dust and leaning against him.

Somedays he wondered how he survived without regular physical affection from his girlfriends.

"When I create them the structure is... unnatural to say the least; the carbon bonds have to be built sequentially to maintain strength. One missing covalent bond and poof. " She smiled fondly, one hand reaching up to pet his cheek. "And all 'cause someone suggested it to me a long time ago."

"Must be a lucky someone," he murmured with a smile, his hand wrapping around her frame, making her giggle. "So, me pulling the staff before you finished all the covalent bonds crashed the structural integrity of it?"

"That's what I think, so..." she mumbled, looking like she was questioning if she wanted to kiss him on the lips or on the cheek. "...when I think about it, what I'm creating isn't a diamond is it?"

Izuku hummed. "Guess it is closer to a massive carbon nanotube... carbon macrotube?"

She laughed, pulling him into a kiss on the lips that lasted for an eternity but also no time at all. "Dork."

"I mean," Mei interrupted, somehow already scaled up to his shoulders, taking a look at the dust from her position. "There are no 'regular-shaped' diamonds, most are just lumps before cutting."
