Krishna Meets Karna

Upset with his inability to make Duryodhan understand the consequences, Karna went back to Angdesh lost deep in his thoughts.

"I have to make him understand. What shall I do? I need someone who would help me get out of this mess," Karna took  a deep breath and walked into the courtroom.

"Pranipat Angraj," one of the ministers bowed down to him

"We need permission to host a festival in the celebration of your birthday tomorrow," The Mantri said

"But...is it really necessary to celebrate mY birthday? It is just like other common days..." Karna said

"It might be a common day for you, Angraaj. But for the people of Angdesh, it is the most gifted day. All the people wish to take part in the celebration..." The Mantri said

"Fine....then permission granted..." Karna said reluctantly. The mantri nodded and called his assistant.

"Listen, we have planned everything except for a Drama...we just need a scriptwriter for the work...find the best script writers in the whole Kingdom..or even in the whole world and bring them to me..." The minister gave instructions to his assistant as he walked out of the courtroom.

Karna smiled and suddenly his expression changed

"The best scriptwriter in the whole world..Who else other than Vasudev Krishn...He is the scriptwriter and the ultimate director...of course!Thank You Mantri ji! You gave me a wonderful idea...But where is he? Is he in Dwarka or in Indraprasth?...."

Just then, a soldier arrived in,

"Hail King Of Anga! Vasudev Krishn is coming towards the Kingdom, the messenger and spies have given the information..." he left after giving the news.

Karna smiled

"No wonder.....He is indeed a magic man..."

Krishna was welcomed with great pomp and splendour. Karna himself showcased his skills and welcomed him.

"Wow Angraaj! Your skills are amazing," Krishna praised him

"Welcome to Angdesh, Vasudev!..." Karna welcomed him and made him feel comfortable.

"Won't you ask me why I have come here, brother?" Krishna questioned

"There must be a reason for your arrival, Vasudev. First let us have some dinner. Please feel comfortable," Karna said as he ordered the servant to prepare the meals.

Krishna relished eating his favourite butter, flattend rice, poha, kheer and fruits of dofferent colours.

"Wow, brother! You know what I love eating..." Krishna said relishing his butter and buttermilk.

"Won't you ask the reason for my visit?" Krishna looked at Karna

"Well.....visitors are always welcome in Angdesh.....with or without reason..." Karna smiled at him

"Fine...the I'm leaving..." Krishna said and stood up hoping that Karna would stop him...

"Oh! so you came to eat here....I got it..." Karna smiled

Krishna turned smiling mischievously. 

"You have proved that you are my cousin..." He winked at Karna

"Duryodhan is not listening to me...he is not ready to apologise..." Karna said seriously

"And the Pandavas are adamant to wage a war after their vanvas and agyatvas," Krishna said

"I a war occurs, I will definitely be against the Pandavas..." Karna said

Krishna frowned a little ,

"Does that mean that you would take Adharm's side?" Krishna asked

"No.... I did not tell you that I will take Duryodhan's side...I told you that I will be to the opposite of Pandavas..." Karna cried

"Which means you are justifying Draupadi's disrobing incident?" Krishna asked shocked

"No, Vasudev. I am the one who saved her. I am not justifying Draupadi's humiliation," Karna said and paused for a few moments

"So?...." Krishna questioned

"I know the disrobing incident was wrong....but I am opposing the Pandavas..." Karna cried

"For?" Krishna asked

"I am opposing the Pandavas for putting their wife....my wife..... at stake...." Karna said and looked at Krishna

"A woman or any human is not a property to put at stake..." Karna continued

"Your thoughts are different, Angraaj....but for everyone's welfare, Duryodhan cannot be a King. What will happen to the women of Hastinapur when he becomes the King? Have you thought of it?....." Krishna was cut in between

"Just imagine, Vasudev....A man who gave up the whole Indraprasth just to win a game, a man who put his wife at stake....the five men who call themselves Yodha, who stuck to their own so called Dharma, and did nothing but cry when a woman was being disrobed in front of them.... What guarantee do we have for the security of the people of Hastinapur when one of them becomes the King?" Karna questioned Krishna

"Then why don't you become the King, Angraaj?" Krishna asked Karna

"I don't have the right to the throne....I do not belong to the Kuru dynasty...and I break rules if needed,...." Karna said

"Yudhistir does not lie or break his promises....being his elder brother, you can ask him to promise that he would never gamble or put other people's life at stake...that is all we can do for now..." Krishna thoughtfully said and continued

"Your reason for being against the Pandavas is right....but the alliance is wrong....After all they are your younger brothers...." Krishna said

Karna sighed and nodded.
