"Ah! Gran-mama!" Eli gasps, walking over to the second table. Ignoring everyone's stares, she hurriedly bent over to kiss the senior's wrinkled cheeks.
Katsuki perked up when he hears the familiar light and cheery voice of Eli. He subtly looked over to her and see that she was planting a kiss on her cheeks. It was the first time he saw her up close and looked surprised when he realizes that she wasn't wearing any of her bandages.
Eli avoided Katsuki's stare while she listens to her grandmother. "Eicchan, happy birthday! You're finally a teenager." She cooed.
Eli giggles at her greeting, she covered her mouth using her left fingers cutely and shuts her eyes. "Gran-mama! I've been a teenager for four years now!"
"Four years? My, I'm sorry dear, you know how I could forget things." She apologizes, now facing the ash-blonde who was listening to their short conversation. "Eicchan, Haruki's here, I wish you too could get along again like when you two were kids..." The tone in gran-mama's voice was soft and sweet.
Katsuki rolls his eyes. He had enough of being called Haruki instead of his real name.
Eli shifted her gaze to Katsuki, and shows him a smile like she was playing along with her grandmother. "Yeah..." She sighs, her smile faltering. She then turned her head to the senior. "How about me and Haruki catch up now, will it be okay if I borrow Haruki for tonight?"
Katsuki widens his eyes in horror. Tangerine, you fucking idiot.
"Great! I'll be here waiting. Go on, you two!" She beams, extending her two frail arms as she shooed them away.
Eli chuckles before pulling on Katsuki's arm, signaling that they were gonna go out. "Oi, where are you–"
"We'll see you later, gran-mama!" Eli waves and mixes in with the crowd, Katsuki following behind her.
Katsuki grunts quietly as he walked in front of her. "Why didn't you tell her I wasn't this Haruki guy? Who is this Haruki anyways–"
"Katsuki." She stops him, her tone serious and stern. She meets his eyes and her lips were in a frown. Something was wrong.
Katsuki noticed the way she said his first name and not his nickname. "What?" He asks, genuinely concerned.
Eli inhaled, then exhaled through her mouth. "Gran-mama has dementia." She started, at the same time, she continued her walk away from the tables. "Haruki is my late cousin."
"Late cousin?" Katsuki asked, finally piecing the puzzle together. "You mean he's?" He says in a softer tone.
Eli nodded, not seeming to get affected by the topic. "Car accident." She explained further. Once they were away from the tables, they were now in the booths where some activities and products can be bought. She turns to face him, inspecting his face. "You do look like him, minus the spiky hair." She smiled.
And just like that, the guilt doubled. "Fuck, I should apologize to her, I've been playing as him the past hour."
Eli giggles again, louder this time. "You? As Haruki? You two are so different from each other."
Katsuki drops his worried look. "Huh? The hell do you mean? I thought he was a nice person? Isn't he a nice person?"
Eli gave him a side look as she tilted her head. "Haruki's a whole gentleman. The kindest person on earth." She sighs, thinking about her late cousin. "He lives with gran-mama since his parents– my uncle and aunt, works overseas."
