RIGHT BEFORE HER MOM left her, she uttered three words Rya had never expected to hear coming out of the woman's mouth.

"Find your father." She rasped, in a voice barely above a whisper.

And just like that, she closed her eyes.

She could barely remember what happened next. Everything seemed blurry, she couldn't focus on a single little thing, couldn't make sense of anything in particular. At some point a nurse lead her out of the place, to the waiting room, but she wasn't sure. Once second her mum was here, and the next... gone.

Rya hoped her mum would be in a better place; She hoped that she was up there in the company of her Grandparents and her Uncle. She prayed to every god she knew. She prayed so that whoever was up there would let her mom through the gates of heaven. Or, if heaven did not exist, just a better place. She deserved that and so much more.

That woman had single handedly raised the young girl. The absence of the father was the mother's fault. From what her birth giver had told her, he never abandoned them, but she deemed it too unsafe to stay with that man.

Rya was the result of a one-night stand between the two of them. The father had wanted to help Mira raise the child despite them not knowing each other. They were happy the first couple of months, they had even fallen in love. But something occurred that destroyed their happiness and pushed the mother to take their child and flee.

Of course, when Rya found out about that she didn't speak to her mother for a whole week, she couldn't believe that the sole reason why she didn't have a father was her own fucking mother. But, Mira, having enough of her daughter's childishness confronted her and explained that if she had not taken her away, they would have constantly been in danger and looking over their shoulders for fear that the cruel man out there that hated her father would find them.

She did not want that life for her sweet child.

Rya knew that her mother only wished for her to not be alone in this harsh world at only fifteen years old, though she could not help but question if she would be safe with him.
Surely if her mum encouraged her to find him, it must be, right?

So, Rya did exactly what she had asked of her.

After months and months of searching in every state in the US, every country in Asia, Africa and Europe, they finally found him in London. They had tried simply searching for him on social media, Facebook, Instagram and the bunch but they came back empty handed. Therefore, Rya took it up a notch and hired a professional hacker that helped her find her father that seemed to be invisible.

Rya had gathered as much information as she could from the old journals her mother kept, spitting them all out to the professional hacker she had employed. With as little information as his name and little physical traits, it had been a hard task. Though, he was finally able to find her father in the magnificent city of London after months of research.

To her big surprise, her father wasn't merely an architect or a painter or maybe even a doctor, no, that man was an agent that worked for the MI6. She couldn't even fucking believe it, it was as if her life was slowly transforming into a bad action movie she loved to watch on tv. Now, everything her mother had told her made sense, yet she still couldn't understand why they could have possibly been on the run their whole lives. She shrugged off that question to the very back of her mind.

Still, she sat there, behind her computer, looking over what Jonathan had sent her. It was astounding, but she wasn't going to complain.

Rya found that life worked really funnily, dare she say- cynically. She thought of how content she was, living her life with her mother, and how it was all snatched from her grasp as though it were nothing more than a useless little piece of paper. Yet, she thought of the small ball of light that now replaced that paper; her father. How warm and refreshing was that small ball of life and how utterly crushed she would be if it was taken away from her.
