Present (2021)
It was about 1:30 in the afternoon, when Harry hurriedly went downstairs and rushed to the fireplace.
"Gin, I have to go! It's getting late!" Harry hollered.
"Where?" Ginny asked, crossing her arms against her chest, as she was sipping a drink on the table.
"Oh, I just have to check on Draco and Mione, if their work is on progress." Harry replied.
"Come on, they can handle it by themselves." Ginny said lazily, embracing Harry.
"Well, I just wanna check."
"Do they know?" she asked, raising a brow; Harry shook his head and laughed, and gave her a passionate kiss on her cheek.
"Harry," she moaned.
"What hon?"
"I just wanna say, thanks."
"Thanks?" Harry said, confused. "For what?"
"For giving me hope. I'd probably be depressed if you hadn't told me constantly that the kids will be fine," she said, grinning. "You better leave now."
"Yeah, yeah," Harry chuckled, planting another kiss on Ginny, but this time on her lips; and flooed to the Ministry.
Ministry of Magic
"Hey there, Harry!"
"Good afternoon, Mr. Potter!"
"Nice to see you!"
Harry was once again greeted by fellow Ministry employees and gave nods as response. He finally reached Hermione's office after a few moments.
"Here it is! The incantation!"
"You sure it'll work?"
"Of course, why don't we test it?"
Hermione and Draco's voices ringed from the office. Harry almost gave a laugh at this.
"Since when do those two get along?" he muttered to himself, under his breath.
Harry gave a quick knock on the door.
"Come in!" Hermione said with a cheery tone. Harry swiftly opened it; the office was now messier than ever, with parchments and documents scattered around the floor and the desk; along with spell books, spilled inks and broken quills.
Hermione's hair looked more bushier, as Draco had circles under his eyes and the two were in a quite, calm discussion. It wasn't normal for Harry to see them getting along.
"Hey, Harry!" Hermione greeted her brother-in-law. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh," said Harry. "I just thought I could pay you a visit, checking your work if it's in progress. Anyways, is everything alright?"
"Yeah, yeah." Draco groaned, muttering an incantation breathlessly. The time turner glowed blue and vibrated on Hermione's desk.
"There we go!" he exclaimed, looking joyful in his face.
Hermione yelped with excitement and hugged Draco, but the two pulled apart immediately, which caused Harry to smirk.
"Oh shut up, Potter!" Draco said sarcastically.
"Sorry," Harry said chuckling. "So what happened? Is it fixed?"
"Hmmm, not quite." Draco answered.
"What do you mean not quite?" asked Harry.
"Well, its magic will only transport the wearer into the past for five minutes at a time."
"So, like the one Delphi and the boys used a year ago?"
"Precisely!"
"There's still a work in progress. It'll take a few more days until we can modify it to allow the wearer to stay in the past endlessly," Hermione explained. "Quite like the one Albus accidentally broke and took them all to 1995. I recommend it would be perfectly safe though to use for a try."
"What do you mean by going back to the past for five minutes?" asked Harry.
Draco didn't answer at this, but after a few seconds he and Harry laughed together.
"Well, I'll explain it later. I don't know too!" Draco laughed.
Hermione rolled her eyes at this.
"Hey, Harry. You have your enchanted mirror with you?"
Hermione asked him."Yep, I'll call James. I'll tell him we're coming for a short visit there."
