I recently finished Shadow of War and that kindled a love for Celebrimbor... so here's a Celebrimbor oneshot for you all.

Tonight, you were laying beside your lover of many years, Celebrimbor. He is a kind elf, and a friend to the dwarves. The elf worked in the forges for hours, meaning that his muscles were usually tense and sore.

Celebrimbor groaned quietly as he shifted around in bed. You were awake, so you watched him move. He wasn't too much of a peaceful sleeper, but that was okay.

After some time of trying to get comfortable, Celebrimbor sat up and looked at you. His hands went to your arms as he tried to find you in the dark. As soon as you felt his rough hands on you, you sat up in bed.

"Melamin, it's only me." Celebrimbor whispered. "I was only seeing if you were up. My apologies."

"I was already up before you checked." you told him. "So there is no need to worry, mell. I suggest that you go back to sleep, as you might have a long day forging things."

You laid back down and and tried to drift off. Eventually you did, leaving Celebrimbor awake and facing you.

He had a grand amount of love for you, and he wanted to do something special for you. Then he remembered his love for crafting things. What if he made something for you? Something beautiful and great. He could make jewelry for you!

So, in the morning, he planned to craft a piece of jewelry so bright and perfect to give it to you. Obviously, since he told you that he had a surprise for you and he went out into the forges for hours, you suspected it.

But, you didn't want to ruin anything. You wanted to see him happy, after all he's done for you. Celebrimbor took care of you often, and you appreciated it.

Maybe you should go see him in the forge. Sometimes you did this, and it was fun to see your lover at his craft. He sort of inherited his love for making things from his father, as Curufin (Celebrimbor's father), who loved crafting, taught Celebrimbor how to forge items, and he loved doing it, so it became his passion.

At the forge, you ran to Celebrimbor and kissed him. He chuckled and held up your chin so you looked at him and not at his work in progress. It was supposed to be a surprise, so of course he didn't let you see it.

"Good day, melethel." Celebrimbor said, glad to have you with him. "What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to be with you." you replied. "It seems that you are working on my surprise. I cannot wait for it to be finished."

"You are most certainly going to like it." Celebrimbor gave you a quick peck on the lips and got back to forging. Since you wished not to spoil the surprise for yourself, you sat nearby and talked to your lover.

The two of you had a pleasant conversation. It was a normal one, similar to one that two good friends would normally have. One about how your day went, how exciting the surprise seemed to be, and a few compliments were exchanged between you and your lover.

Although you knew that Celebrimbor was making you jewelry, you wondered what type he was going to give to you. A necklace? A bracelet? That was all you wanted to know. No matter what it was, you knew that it was going to be well-made. Celebrimbor was so good at these types of things, and you trusted that he won't give you a horrible things on purpose.

The sound of clanking filled up the room as your lover continued to forge. Clank after clank after clank. It was when the Sun sank into the West horizon when Celebrimbor announced that he was finished.

A feeling of anticipation built up inside of you as you waited for the elf to show you the gift he made. He had it hidden behind his back. Celebrimbor then got one of his hands out from behind his back and allowed you to take it. Leading you to a grassy area with a good view of the sky, Celebrimbor pursed his lips.

The moon was soon clearly visible from where you stood, and then your lover got his other hand out from behind his back. His fist was clenched, so you couldn't see what he had forged for you.

A few seconds of silence.

"Ithil a elin nin, I have been your lover for many, many years."  Celebrimbor began. "And so, I believe this belongs to you." He got down on one knee and opened his fist, revealing a gorgeous ring that glowed brilliantly in the light of the moon. It looked absolutely perfect, meaning Celebrimbor did not disappoint. Not at all.

You let out a silent chuckle in amazement with watery eyes, and examined the ring. It was so intricate and shiny. There were a few jewels on the ring here and there, the largest one being the one on the top.

"Besta nin. Marry me." continued Celebrimbor.

"Yes!" you told him. Your answer prompted him to slip the ring onto your right index finger and kiss you passionately. A sensation of joy and pleasure surrounded you. Once the two of you seperated, you went to bed for the night.

While in bed, you had your right hand in front of your face so you can look at your engagement ring. It wasn't too bright, as the room was a little dark, but you could still see it. Celebrimbor did a fantastic job, and it was a dream come true to be engaged to him.

Your lover brought one of his arms around you and placed his index finger and his thumb on your ring. He spun it around a bit.

"Do you like the ring that I made for you?" he asked. "I worked very hard on it, so it can be flawless."

"Celebrimbor, I love it." you said. "And it's flawless. It's perfect. Even if the ring wasn't well-made, though, it would still be perfect in my eyes. Because it was made out of love. Thank you."
