I shuffle in bed, feeling way more comfortable than usual. I felt small cracks of sun on my skin, making my eyes flutter open. A small yawn escapes from my lips just as I did. I look around the room- noticing immediately it isn't mine. I don't panic though- I recognize it anyways.

I do remember falling asleep on my own bed though. What It was after I attempted to explain everything that happened- I was panicky and crying. Not sure how well I explained it, but I assume it was enough to make Klaus angry (which really didn't take much to be honest.)

After that mess, I know I fell asleep in my bed with him sitting beside me. I could tell he was pissed by the way his jaw clenched and his eyes were glued to the wall- probably thinking of pretty violent things. I was too tired to question it. But now I was here, his room, alone.

I sit up, stretching out my arms with a small sigh of relief. I snatch my phone from the nightstand right when my eyes landed on it. Missed calls, texts, you already know. I close it- deciding I would deal with it later. I slip out of the bed, shivering as my feet make contact with the cool ground. I had some oversized shirt on and a pair of shorts on- good enough.

I leave the bedroom, and slowly find my way down the stairs. I say slowly because I took my time, looking around the mansion. Not many pictures, mostly paintings.

I make it to the study, where a rather annoyed hybrid carefully carrying a painting is coming out of. I'm guessing thats where I can find him. The hybrid looks at me for a moment before bumping past me and out of the door. Alright then.

I enter the study, where a mess of paints and brushes were scattered along with an empty aisle. Klaus had been there, his back turned as he wiped paint from his hands. I open my mouth to speak but I'm cut off.

"You sleep late." He says, turning to look at me with a brow raised.

"What were you painting?" I ask, examining the room and the blue paints that had obviously been used.

"Something for the Winter Wonderland charity event." He says as he twists a cap onto a small tube of paint, eyeing me as he does so. "Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah. Kinda." I say.

A short silence overtakes us for a moment. My phone begins vibrating from my pocket. I reach for it, gladly taking the chance to end the silence. He watches intently as I answer the call from Caroline.

"I know this may not be the best time- but we need to talk. You'll be at the charity event?" She speaks in a rushed tone, as if she were doing something whilst speaking. I exchange looks with Klaus, who could obviously hear the entire convo before turning on my heel- to give me some sense of privacy.

"I can try..." I trail off. I didn't want to go. If anything I wanted to avoid seeing anyone for as long as I could. I sorta felt weird even talking to Caroline so casually after the events that took place.

"I get it, after everything- I really do. But I really need you to come tonight. I can explain when I see you." I stay silent for a few seconds, taking in her words- and feeling slightly worried as I do. She wouldn't ask if she didn't have to.

"Okay. I'll be there." I say, quietly. I hear a small sigh of relief before the blonde says goodbye and hangs up. I felt confused but I think I was too distracted with anxious thoughts of what would happen if I showed up. I turn back towards the man who had been cleaning up paints but so obviously listening in. I don't think he even cared about hiding it.

"You don't sound too excited, love." He says. I shrug slightly.

"I'll be fine." I say shoving my phone back into my pocket. He goes to step closer to me, which usually I wouldn't be so put off from. I back away though- slightly. He pays attention to this.
