Y/Ns POV
I ran out of the building with Sam to see everyone fleeing the scene. Everyone was bumping into each other just trying to get away. I noticed a black blazer laying on the ground, so I ran over and picked it up. It belonged to the guy who was questioning Bucky.
"Sam." I said, getting his attention. He walked over to me and noticed it too. We looked around but it was clear that he got away.
"Damnit." Sam said under his breath.
"What do we do?" I asked. He rubbed his eyes and sighed, thinking.
"I don't know... Where did Bucky go?" he asked me.
"I dont know that's why I'm with you!" I said.
"You didn't have anything to do with this? The bombing, any of it?" he asked me.
"What? No of course not! What reason would I have to bomb the UN?" I asked him.
"You're not working for HYDRA?" He questioned. I was angry now. I took a step towards him and got up in his face.
"No. I have never worked for them nor would I ever work for them." I said, sternly. He got quiet and then looked around again.
"We gotta find Steve. C'mon." He said. We ran around the building but couldn't find him. Suddenly, Sam's phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Sam, it's Steve."
"Yo, Steve where are you?" He asked.
"I'm on my way to the roof...take Y/N and meet me at that old garage. I'll meet you there." He said before hanging up. We then saw a helicopter taking off from the landing pad on top of the building. We then saw Steve, holding onto the bottom of the helicopter, looking like he was trying to stop it.
"Is he....?" I asked
"Yeah... yeah he is." Sam said. Then the helicopter actually started moving the other way.
"What the fuck?" I exclaimed. Then the copter took a quick turn and crashed into the landing pad. Sam covered me as debris started flying everywhere. Then, it was quiet.
"Oh no..." Sam whispered. We both watched, hoping something would happen. Then, The helicopter started falling. It slipped off the ruined landing pad and that's when we saw Steve, still holding on to the helicopter.
"STEVE!" Sam yelled as we saw him fall into the water. Everything settled as the chopper sank.
"C'mon man.." I heard Steve whisper. I was praying in my head that he was okay. It took about 45 seconds for us to finally see Steve emerge from the water.
"BUCKY!" I screamed as I saw Steve pull him from the water.
"Jesus christ." Sam sighed. We saw Steve swim and that's when Sam grabbed my hand.
"C'mon we gotta go." He said, leading me away.
-2 hours later-
We waited in this abandoned garage for Bucky to wake up.
"Ya know, you don't need to restrain him like that." I told Sam as I watched an unconscious Bucky sit with his metal arm in a hydraulic press.
"We don't know who he'll be when he wakes up." Sam said, not taking his eyes off him.
"He's not the winter soldier." I said.
"Yeah? Then explain his little meltdown back there."
"He was brainwashed."
