~Aurora's Pov~

We were spending the night in the woods. Earlier today, dad told us that we were all infected. If we died, we came back as a walker. It didn't matter if we didn't get bit or scratched, we came back either way..

"What was that?" Beth asked as we heard movement in the woods, too close to us. "Could be anything." Daryl said getting up, he grabbed his crossbow. I scooted closer to mom and Carl. She wrapped her arm around me, holding Carl close to her under her other arm. "Could be a raccoon, could be a possum." Daryl said holding his crossbow, getting it ready in case he needed it. "Walker." Glenn said as he stood up and held his shotgun, ready to use it too. I started looking around, We had a fire going and there were some walls around us.

"We need to leave. What are we waiting for?" Carol asked as she stood up as well, she looked at everyone scared. "Which way?" Glenn asked looking around too, "It came from over there." Maggie said standing up too. "Back from where we came." Beth said standing up with her sister. Everyone but mom, Carl and I were standing. "Yeah," Maggie agreed.

"The last thing we need is for everyone to be running off in the dark. We don't have the vehicles. No one's traveling on foot." Dad said looking at everyone, it looked like he was getting mad. We heard a branch snapping, closer this time. "I'm not- I'm not sittin' here waiting for another herd to blow through." Maggie said looking over at her family then over at my dad. "We need to move, now." She said. "No one is going anywhere." Dad said.

"Do something." Carol said looking at him. "I am doing something!" He said, snapping slightly at Carol, "I'm keeping this group together, Alive. I've been doing that all along, no matter what. I didn't ask for this. I killed my best friend for you people for Christ's sake!" He yelled lowly, trying not to be so loud. I furrowed my eyebrows at my dad, confused at the words that just came out of his mouth.

Silence fell over all of us as we looked at my dad. He looked at all of us too. I started feeling sick. I thought the herd got him. I put my hand on the floor, supporting myself. "You saw what he was like, how he pushed me, how he compromised us, how he threatened us." Dad said looking at us.

Dad killed Shane?

"He staged the whole Randall thing. Led me out to put a bullet in my back." He said, I swallowed the lump in my throat feeling my heart jump at the fact that Shane was trying to kill my dad. But it was self defense, i'm not sure how I should be feeling.. "He gave me no choice. He was my friend but he came after me." He said. Mom let go of me as Carl started crying, she held him close to her and he cried against her shoulder. I kept my eyes on my dad though, shocked that he killed Shane. "My hands are clean." He spoke. Everyone looked over at us as heard Carl cries. I looked over at Daryl and swallowed the lump in my throat again, he looked at me too.

I wasn't even sure if I should tell my dad about Shane anymore. What's the point? He's dead.. "Maybe you people are better off without me." Dad said, We looked over to him again, "Go ahead. I say there's a place for us, but Maybe it's just another pipe dream. Maybe i'm fooling myself again. Why don't you- why don't you go and find out yourself? Send me a postcard!" He said getting more angry. He looked at me and I looked away from him quickly, down at the floor. "Go on, There's the door. You can do better. Let's see how far you get." He said. No one said anything, it was just silent as everyone looked at my dad.

"No takers?" He asked, everyone stayed quiet. "Fine. But lets get one thing straight. If you're staying, this isn't a democracy anymore." He said. It felt like my throat was starting to close. I swallowed again, feeling my heart race. I was confused, I didn't know how to feel. I got up and walked to the wall behind me, sitting at the corner.
