the brunette girl walks hand in hand with her boyfriend through the flashing cameras, ignoring all questions as they walk into the office building
they both sigh in relief and see the security guards block the entrance before heading over to the couch to wait for abby, nini's manager
"i swear to god, one day i just won't be able to control myself around them." nini giggles
"me neither." ej laughs as he puts his arm around her
he looks at his girlfriend taking deep breaths as she looks around the lobby and takes her hands in his
"i'm sure it's nothing bad babe." ej smiles
nini nods "i know. it's just that i hate being in the dark."
ej kisses her temple and she leans her head on his shoulder as she goes on her phone.

she feels a small smile on her face when she sees that kourtney commented.
nini left her old, regular life when she was just fourteen. she didn't tell anyone because it all happened so fast. one minute, she was in her room in salt lake city, and the next she was on a plane to california.
kourtney and nini came in contact again a few months ago and the girl loved having her back in her life. they wouldn't talk very often, just a few random girl talks. but it still felt nice for nini to have her old friend again.
though of course, she knows that she'll never have a best friend like the one she used to have.
"neens." ej calls
the girl looks up from her phone to see abby walking over to them with a smile
ej and nini stand up and they follow the small blonde into the office room.
"alright, nini." abby exclaims as they all sit down "i'm just going to remind you that it's nothing bad." she laughs
nini and ej laugh as well and he gives her a 'i told you' look.
but nini sees something in abby's eyes showing that it probably won't be ideal either...
"now, i know that these past couple months have been...suffocating for you." she begins
nini nods. boy was she right.
lately, nini had been feeling sick of the fame and the cameras watching her every move. she loved sharing her music with the world, but sometimes she wishes she could go back to the fourteen year old girl she was just three years ago.
"so," she takes a deep breath "i've decided to send you back to salt lake city for three months."
nini and ej's jaws drop to the table.
"what?!" they both yell in unison
"it will be good for you. three months, back at your hometown, no responsibilities. apart from going to a high school, because we need those grades-"
"but i can't go to salt lake!" nini exclaims in fright
"nini. i'm not giving you a choice."
"what about ej?!" nini asks "is he coming with me?"
ej looks at abby with hope, but she shakes her head
"ej needs to stay here for the new movie he's going to be making." she explains
nini groans as she buries her face in her hands

ricky was watching carlos and gina laugh as they make their fifty-thousandth tik tok in a row
"aren't you guys sick of it?" ricky asks with a chuckle
"no." gina and carlos smirk as they do the renegade
"ricky come do it with us!" gina squeals as she lifts him off of his couch
the boy shakes his head "i am not a dancer-"
"i'm not either but i can do it." big red grins as he jumps into the camera frame
ricky sighs as he watches three of his best friends dance on camera
"ricky!" gina whines with a giggle
"you're annoying." he groans at his best friend
"but ya love me." she winks as she leans her elbow on his shoulder
ricky rolls his eyes and after minutes and minutes of the three insisting, he does one
they both make fun of him and how he wasn't doing it properly and so he stops while laughing to go get some water
"crap." gina mutters as she sees her instagram
"what's wrong?" big red asks, peering over her shoulder
gina doesn't say anything, instead she shows him and carlos the post and their eyes widen.

"she's coming back?!" big red yells
"red!" gina hushes
"who's coming back?" ricky asks as he comes back into the living room
"uhhhh-" gina grabs her phone from carlos' hand and turns it off "m-my aunt!"
ricky lifts an eyebrow in confusion as he sees big red and carlos avoiding his eyes
"okay?" he says as he sits down on the couch
gina lets out a breath she'd been holding ever since ricky left the room.
all of his friends knew how bad this was.

they were slightly thankful that he didn't follow her on social media or didn't even let his friends say her name around him.

she left ricky broken-hearted with gina, carlos, seb, ashlyn, big red and kourtney to pick up the pieces.
they all think he still thinks about her, no matter how much he denies it.
