Final Chapter

Days have turned into weeks, and weeks have slowly turned into months, with the fall leaves breaking away from the trees and cold breeze of winter settling in for the season.

Taehyung stands outside the busy café, waiting for Jimin to finish picking out a cake for Jin's birthday party.

He sees Jimin through the window,  watching Jimin fondly smile to himself as he picks out a small cake with strawberries on top. Just seeing Jimin smile makes Taehyung feel so soft for him, especially after what they've been through.

After the incident with Jungkook, Jimin took a long time to recover. He spent weeks in the hospital to recover from his wounds, and more weeks after that with a therapist.

Taehyung stood with him the entire time, the whole process helped rekindle their friendship, and perhaps a little more.

"Taehyung, I'm ready!" Jimin calls out as he skips out of the café with a large bag in hand, greeting Taehyung with a crescent eye smile and a soft peck on the cheek.

No, they aren't dating, but they have gotten close again during these hard months of recovery. They both still need time to heal, especially Taehyung after losing Jungkook.

Jimin respects that and is willing to help Taehyung heal, just like Taehyung helped him heal from the trauma Jungkook caused him.

"Let's go before my brother bitches at us for being late." Taehyung grabs Jimin's hand and hurries down the block where his car is parked.

"Do you think Namjoon will be there in time? I heard today is his last day as Chief of Police." Jimin says as he clutches Taehyung's hand firmly, well, more like gripping at Taehyung's fingers since Taehyung has a huge hand.

Taehyung chuckles at that. "I know he will, because if he shows up late to Jin's party, he'll end up sleeping outside in his car...again."

Both of them laugh as they make their way to Taehyung's car, wanting to hurry and return home to Jin and bask in the comfort of being around family.

Speaking of Namjoon, the aforementioned male was at the police station signing off a contract and turning in his gun and badge to Officer Kang, who has become the new Chief of Police.

"You sure you wanna quit? We can use your intelligence in other fields of work." Kang offers as he watches Namjoon place on his leather jacket and push aside a lock of hair from his face, showing off his honey colored forehead.

"I've had enough with police work. My boyfriend and I agreed that its best that I find something more suitable to our lifestyle."

"So working on a book is suitable to your new lifestyle?" Kang points out to a book on his desk with notes written all over it.

Namjoon sheepishly smiles and grabs the book, holding it close in his arms.

Since the incident with Jungkook, Namjoon has decided to quit being Chief of Police and return to a simpler life. He took on the hobby of reading and decided to write a book about a cop falling in love with a serial killer, using his experience with Yoongi as an inspiration.

"Fractured?" Kang mutters as he squints his eyes to read the title.

"I'm still working on more names, but I feel like this suits the story best." Namjoon says as he looks down at the book.

"Well, good luck with your story. I can already tell its going to be a hit when it comes out."

"Thanks Kang." Namjoon salutes the Chief of Police, then they both bid each other farewell before Namjoon leaves the station for good.
